Way back in August, I reported on a rumor that LEGO will be producing a special Collectible Minifigure series featuring the German national football team. Today at the 2016 Nuremberg Toy Fair, it was announced that there will indeed be a special series (71014), exclusive to Germany, consisting of 16 minifigures of some of the players on DFB, Die Mannschaft (The Team). They are scheduled to be released in May just in time for the 2016 UEFA European Championship.

So by your wordage they will be of specific players rather than just generic figures (kinda like the Team GB ones)? If so this is what I have been waiting for my whole life. 16 total so the 11 starters of this years euros plus 5 subs? or 4 subs and and joachim low? Holy crap I can’t wait.
It could go either way. It’s possible that they could just be generics but since there is a license with the team, they could be actual players.

That article you posted points towards yes with the mention of when they’ll announce the full squad this spring but we’ll see. Either way I’ll be pleased as its been quite some time since Lego has partnered up with football
