In my last review of the single character LEGO Marvel mechs, we take a look at the Black Panther Mech Armor (76204) which comes in at 125 pieces and retailing for $9.99.
A Black Panther minifigure is included in the set and it has an updated design for the head and torso. There is some metallic silver on throughout but overall, it is pretty bland. Adding to that, there is no printing on the legs. He does has a pair of claws as accessories. What’s nice about it is that it also comes with a separate head and hair for T’Challa if you don’t want his mask on.
The build is similar to the other mechs and the height is pretty much the same compared to the others. Unlike the minifigure, the mech has some color to it with the black and purple color scheme. The flip-down chestpiece has a printed slope showing the Claw Necklace. There is also a display screen but it is blank.
All of the joints on the mech are on ball joint so you’ll be able to get it in a lot of nice action poses. The legs and feet are fairly narrow so there may be some issue getting it into the right pose but it should be no problem.
The main features of the mech, I think, are the oversized hands. The weird thing about it is that LEGO used some 2×2 plates with axles which left one of them exposed on the end. It’s just looks awkward with the axle sticking out. The claws use some of the larger teeth pieces and they work well.
The LEGO Marvel Black Panther Mech Armor (76204) is a mixed bag for me. The build is okay but there isn’t much detail on it. Same goes with the Black Panther minifigure itself even though it is a new one.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
