LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Tanker Truck Takedown (76067)

Jacob_9821 over on Eurobricks has just posted the official images of the last LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Civil War set with the Tanker Truck Takedown (76067). The set has 330 pieces and includes minifigures of Captain America, Hawkeye, Vision, and of course, Spider-Man. One of the main reasons why this set is a summer release is probably to conceal that Spider-Man will be in Civil War. The set looks decent but the main draw is in the minifigures. The Tanker Truck Takedown (76067) is reported to be a Toys R Us exclusive set.

YES! this is the set in this wave/theme I’ve been waiting for. A new Hawkeye and Spider-Man plus Vision? sold.

kinda lame they didn’t give Hawkeye the dual-molded Superboy left arm, though.

If people want to know the price I have predicted £30 since the piece and minify count match that of red/iron skulls sub.
May be slightly off since its connected to a film or the pieces may be larger on average

Being licensed or attached to a movie make no difference in price. Back in the mid-00’s, I calculated the average price of every minifig theme and SW came in under $0.10/pc, while Town was actually over. It’s only the heavy use of one-off sculpted heads (which really began with Ki-Adi-Mundi in the second Geonosian Fighter) that drove prices up.

Being license does make a difference in price, but not all the time. City is currently the most expensive theme and is hugely overprice.

And you prove my point while trying to refute it. If licensed themes had an automatic price bump, they should always have the highest price/piece ratio of any similar sets. Always. But they don’t, and on the occasions when they do, it’s pretty easy to figure out what might cause that in the majority of cases. For SW, there’s a ton of limited-use custom sculpted alien heads that they simply can’t use in any other theme. Those molds are expensive, and they have a limited window to recoup the cost and still stay profitable. And they do have to both pay for the molds and stay profitable, or they won’t be given permission to keep making them.
So, if you’re going to claim that there’s any sort of “licensing fee” attached to properties like Superheroes and Star Wars, support it with evidence. In the meantime, just be aware that going on 20+ years, the gold standard for minifig sets has been in the $0.10USD/pc range, defying inflation, and that licensed sets tend to be on the low side compared to original IPs. There are times when that’s not the case, but 10% is the exception, not the rule.

It’s hard to tell at this resolution, but it looks like Vision’s head has been redesigned to include the Mind Gem!
    Also, new Hawkeye design!
Can’t have enough of that masked Cap! (You really can)
Oh, and some Deadpool ripoff seems to have been shoved into the set as well.

So if this is an exclusive in the U.S., does anyone know what it’s UK status will be?

Check this out: http://www.toysrus.pl/toys/browse/klocki/lego/_/N-102650 it includes images of the theme that’s updated for August 2016. The best thing to note is the Banana Guy minifigure image seen towards the bottom of the page. I recommend you do a report on this.

Thank you so much for posting this! I have been waiting to see what this set looks like and I am very pleased! I know you said this is a Summer set but do you know what month it might be released?

  7. Gomek

I would have rather had the comic book versions. I already have the the movie versions of all these.

I was considering the airport set, but I would have to pick up too many individual figs to complete the scene. Now this new set makes that so much easier. I’ll just need a to pick up a separate Black Panther, Black Widow, and Falcon.
