If you purchased the LEGO Spongebob Bikini Bottom (11386) or the LEGO Shrek Collectible Minifigures (71053), you may have noticed some defects on some of the characters, more specifically Patrick and Gingy. The back of the minifigures have some hairline cracks starting to form even though they’re brand new. There have been quite a few fans that have expressed their disappointment online about it. Our review copy of Gingy also had this issue.
LEGO has released a statement through New Elementary about the problems and are now offering replacement parts at no charge. You can now contact LEGO Customer Service and they will take care of it.
We are aware of a quality issue affecting some LEGO® minifigure heads. We know our fans expect the highest quality standards from us and we’re really sorry for the disappointment this has caused.
Our Quality team has identified the cause and we are currently producing replacements which affected fans will be able to request free of charge by contacting LEGO Customer Service.
