Lego has been pricing msrp high, and then retailers roll the prices back by 20%, sometimes the same week of the release. Lego has done this a few times now. Lego sometimes even rolls back the price in the Lego store to the lower prices at the end of the sets run. 3/4 of the sets I have purchased were marked down by 50-75%.
