• With Markus Lundh, Koenigsegg Test Driver, behind the wheel, this feat pays tribute to the brand’s 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed performance, where Lundh set a Hill Climb record in the Sadair’s Spear.
• The challenge showcases the incredible capabilities of the LEGO Technic building system, showing how fans can ‘Build For Real’ and create anything they can imagine and bring real engineering to life.

BILLUND, DENMARK, 18 June 2026: Today, the LEGO Group and Koenigsegg, two brands at the forefront of creativity and engineering, reveal a collaboration based on shared ambition, precision, and innovation. The partnership brings to life the newest addition to the LEGO® Technic™ Ultimate Car Concept Series: The LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar, launching this July.

To push the challenge even further, the LEGO Group and Koenigsegg took the life-size LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear to the Goodwood estate to take on the legendary hill. The build was driven by Markus Lundh, Koenigsegg Test Driver, who set the hill climb record in the Sadair’s Spear in 2025 during the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Taking on the infamous hill in reverse, the build managed to achieve a top speed of 111k m/h – setting the speed record as the fastest drivable LEGO car ever created by the LEGO Group. This milestone marks the launch of the new LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar set and establishes a new record-breaking category in Goodwood’s history: LEGO car speed records.

The life-size, drivable LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is constructed from 327,906 LEGO elements, weighs approximately 1,800kg, of which 400kg is LEGO elements, and took more than 9,400 hours to develop and construct. Its intricate details feature a lightweight body built entirely of LEGO Technic elements, working Ghost Mode, and even the signature Koenigsegg key, all carefully integrated to mirror the functionality of its real-world counterpart.

Christian von Koenigsegg, CEO of Koenigsegg, said: “Innovation and extreme performance are at the core of everything we do. To see the Sadair’s Spear recreated not only as a highly detailed 1:8 scale LEGO Technic model, but also as a full-scale, drivable vehicle, is truly remarkable. Our partnership with the LEGO Group demonstrates how a shared passion for engineering and creativity can result in something extraordinary.”

Markus Lundh, Koenigsegg Test Driver, said: “Getting the chance to take the driver’s seat of this life-size LEGO Technic build was an incredible privilege. It really did feel like I was handling a real Koenigsegg, bringing back memories of setting the speed record at Goodwood in the Sadair’s Spear in July 2025. It was awesome to set another record on this iconic course – a true testament to the level of engineering the LEGO Technic team has achieved.”

The new LEGO® Technic™ Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar is the sixth model in the LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series. The LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar consists of 4,104 LEGO elements, promising fans a challenging and rewarding build experience. The set features:

• An authentic V8 piston engine.
• A functional 9-speed transmission.
• A unique Triplex front and rear suspension.
• A new rotating gear indicator disc, visually displaying which gear the model is currently in
• The standout innovation is the working ‘Ghost Mode’ function. With a single movement, it raises the rear clam, rotates the signature dihedral synchro-helix doors and front hood, and folds the mirrors – mirroring the functionality of the real-life megacar.
• Developed in close collaboration between the LEGO Technic design team and Koenigsegg, the model captures the precision engineering and performance that define the Sadair’s Spear. Additional functional elements include working steering and a removable roof, enhancing display and interactive play possibilities. The V8 piston engine is also included as part of the model’s drivetrain system, continuing the LEGO Technic tradition of realistic engine simulation.

Kasper Rene Hansen, Senior Model Designer at the LEGO Group, said: “Our ambition was to create the most advanced LEGO Technic build we’ve ever produced. Incorporating features such as a working Ghost Mode, a 9-speed sequential gearbox and the unique Triplex suspension system -all firsts for a Technic Ultimate model – pushed the boundaries of what’s possible. We hope this set captures the spirit and technical sophistication of the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear, while delivering a rewarding experience for builders. This set really embodies the philosophy of LEGO Technic – Build For Real!”
