Today, LEGOLAND California announced a major expansion for the Water Park that is set to open Summer 2014. The 2.5 acre expansion will cost about $12 million and will be featuring attractions from the LEGO Legends of Chima theme. This expansion follows the footsteps of LEGOLAND’s sister park in Florida where they opened The World of Chima back in July. The cost of admission to the new area will be included with the admission to the LEGOLAND Water Park. The new expansion will be located in the north-east area of park next to the Pirate Reef attraction. Four of the eight new areas of the expansion were revealed today as well by park officials.

The “Lion Temple Wave Pool” will be the centerpiece of the expansion and will have a 30 foot Mount Kavora where water will cascade down. It it also show various characters from each of the tribes.

“Cragger’s Swamp” is a play area where it lets kids blast water cannons and ride water slides right into the head of a large crocodile.

On “Eglor’s Build-A-Boat, kids can build a boat much like the current Build-A-Raft attraction and race against other kids while dodging obstacles.

The “Wolves’ Cantina” is a food service area that will show off things from the Wolf tribe.

If you remember back in April, LEGOLAND California Hotel opened and rooms were quickly filled up. Officials are hoping that the new Legends of Chima Water Part will attract customers who want to say at the park for more than a day and boost attendance. We’ll have more details of the expansion as more details become available.
