LEGO Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222) Coming in October

LEGO Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222)

A few days ago, I posted the October 2016 Store Calendar which I’ve updated with higher quality scans as well as the back page for it. One of the things that I want to feature on it is the FREE exclusive Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222) with purchases of $99 or more from October 1-25, while supplies last. The set is pretty much another advent calendar which contains 250 pieces and contains 24 different builds including a train, plane, Christmas tree, snowman, reindeer, candy cane, dog, fireplace mantle, and more.

This Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222) is a nice change to the usual LEGO Star Wars, City, and Friends Advent Calendars which are starting to be more of the same each year. The set will be available for North America starting in October and I’m not sure if Europe and other countries will be getting the promo so you’ll have to check your own stores to see what they have available then.

LEGO 2016 Advent Calendars Now Available

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Advent Calendar (75146)

If you’re wanting to pick up the LEGO 2016 Advent Calendars, they are now available for purchase on Amazon and on Shop@Home. If you’re unfamiliar with purchasing the LEGO Advent Calendars, they do sell very quickly as stock usually runs out before or around Thanksgiving time especially for the LEGO Star Wars one. Although it’s still a little too early to open them, it’s not too early to purchase them early and have them stashed away until December.

LEGO Disney Castle (71040) Now Available for General Public

LEGO Disney Castle (71040)

If you haven’t been able to purchase the LEGO Disney Castle (71040) during the VIP early access, you can now purchase the set on Shop@Homeicon. The Disney Castle has been temporarily out of stock for a while on both S@H and at LEGO Brand Stores since it was released a few weeks ago. I have a feeling that it will be out of stock again in a few days so get it while you can or if you prefer to wait until October, you can get Double VIP Points on it.

Update: It has sold out temporarily online and word is it will be back at the end of September.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159) Officially Announced

LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159)

LEGO has finally announced the next LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series set with the updated Death Star (75159). It hasn’t been much of a secret the past couple of weeks but there are now official details of the set. It will have 4,016 pieces and retails for $499.99 which is 213 pieces and $100 more than the recently retired 10188 version.

Although there are many, many fans that aren’t impressed with it, the main appeal is to those who weren’t able to get the previous version or for new LEGO fans who has just started collecting LEGO Star Wars sets. I do understand the animosity against the new set when it was first “revealed” because there are very minor updates to it but at a higher price point. For those individuals, that means you can save your money and use it on other LEGO sets that interest you more.

One thing to note in the press release notes was that the UCS Death Star (75159) is not an indication of any future re-release or set updates.
