Toys R Us Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

As we know by now, Toys R Us has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy but what will happen with the company and all the LEGO exclusives we could get from them? As an employee of Toys R Us/Babies R Us, what I’ve been told by my manager is that we’ll still be running normally like we’ve been running. No stores will be closing in the short term but may close poor performing stores after the holiday season. As for reports that a lot of vendors have refused to ship products, those are only for the smaller companies. I believe the larger companies like Mattel, Hasbro, and even LEGO are still getting products to the stores. There won’t be any “going out of business” sales because this isn’t a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and TRU is not going out of business at this time.

So what happens with all the LEGO products at Toys R Us? There shouldn’t be any change with the selection. For those here in the US who are waiting for the Bricktober 2017 sets, you should still be able to find them in a few weeks. There will still be various sales going on and TRU does price match Amazon and other retailers.

The Toys R Us bankruptcy comes just weeks after LEGO reported lower profits and layoffs themselves. It looks like that the whole toy industry isn’t doing well as a whole as more kids are gravitating to electronics and video games. We’ll see what happens after the holiday season but this is … Continue

Like with the other box office LEGO movies, The LEGO Ninjago Movie will have a presence at McDonald’s. It has been revealed that there will be some The LEGO Ninjago Movie McDonald’s Happy Meal toys coming that will be switching over soon, if not already. There will be six items to collect which include a Green Ninja Dragon telescope, a cup, a play camera, a play selfie phone, a stationary, and some red tubular thing that looks like a pog holder. LEGO Ranked Number 1 on 2017 Global CSR RepTrak 100

With the hype of the release of the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192), this piece of news was overlooked. It has been announced that The LEGO Group has become the Number 1 company in regards to reputation on corporate responsibility according to RepTrak 100. This comes a couple of months after LEGO was named the second most regarded company overall.

According to the survey, The LEGO Group surpasses Microsoft and Google who was at the second and top spot, respectively, last year. Chief Financial Officer Marjorie Lao said,

We are honoured to see that our efforts to positively impact the planet resonate with people all over the world. We feel a huge sense of responsibility to inspire and develop children through play while leaving a significant positive impact on the world children will inherit. It is part of our DNA as a company, and we will continue to set the bar high for ourselves to do better.

Few More Characters Revealed for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Captain America 2099

A few more characters have been revealed for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 the past few days. The first one is Horus who we’ve seen before but now we get a clearer image of him in his outfit which is the Earth-9106 version. The other character that has been revealed for the game is Captain America 2099. This is the third character from the 2099 Marvel Universe that will be in the game joining Spider-Man 2099 and Goblin 2099. I expect there will be more 2099 characters to be in the game and hoping for Ghost Rider 2099 and Punisher 2099.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Quake Mech (30379) Polybag Review

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Quake Mech (30379)

As I reported before, The LEGO Ninjago Movie Quake Mech (30379) polybag can now be found at Walmart and I’ve actually been able to find them. The polybag has 64 pieces and goes for $3.97 each and they can be found in a bin along with other LEGO polybags.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Quake Mech (30379)

The build is pretty straight-forward and it actually has some articulation to it. The arms do have some movement as they have some ball socket joints. The hands are on clips and they can move as well. The most interesting part is the wheel. It’s flat at the bottom so it can easily stand up. There are a couple of clips to make it seem like they’re connected to the wheel but it’s only an illusion and it works quite well.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Quake Mech (30379)

Overall I really like The LEGO Ninjago Movie Quake Mech (30379) polybag (Cole minifigure not included). I do like the look of it and it does recreate the mech we saw in the trailers very well. I don’t have anything to compare it to since there’s no regular scale set that has been released yet at this time. It is rumored that the Quake Mech will be released in the next wave of The LEGO Ninjago Movie sets. Until then, you can pick up this little guy at Walmart now.
