LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Order Stormtrooper (30602) Revealed as May the 4th 2016 Promo

LEGO Star Wars First Order Stormtrooper (30602) - May the 4th

If you missed my previous post of the LEGO May 2016 Store Calendar, the exclusive minifigure was revealed to be the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Order Stormtrooper (30602). At first, the minifigure looks extremely close to the one found in the First Order Battle Pack (75132). The only difference is that the torso has a minor addition and a backpack. This version of the Stormtrooper looks to be Jakku version of the character but that could be debated.

Initial responses to the First Order Stormtrooper (30602) have been somewhat negative as many people are fine with the one that came in the Battle Pack. Since technically it is a new exclusive, albeit the small changes, polybag collectors will still probably want one however there could have been other better choices of characters. Do note that the threshold to get the minifigure for free is now $50 for 2016 instead of the $75 from previous years. Maybe LEGO is banking on people getting multiples of this polybag with the lower price.

LEGO.com Celebrates 20 Years on the World Wide Web

It may not seem like that long ago but the term “World Wide Web” was coined less than 30 years ago. Today is LEGO.com’s 20th Anniversary on the internet and they have posted a page showing some of the different iterations of the site. The simplicity of the site in 1996 is just pure nostalgia as I remember seeing other websites looking similar when I first got online in school. Ah, who remembers using good ol’ Netscape as your browser back then and that dial-up modem sound. If you want to actually use the older versions of LEGO’s site, head on over to the Internet Archive Wayback Machine and you can still browse around.

At the bottom of the page, there’s a matching game and if you match up five things, you get to download wallpapers from various classic themes like Town, Western, Technic, Trains, Time Cruisers, Pirates, Aquazone, Space, Castle, and a MOC using classic parts. If you know a browser trick, you don’t actually have to play the game and directly download the images but where’s the fun in that?

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens HISHE

If you haven’t seen it yet, the Brotherhood Workshop has teamed up with How It Should Have Ended on creating a HISHE for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in LEGO. The video was created for the 2016 SXSW Video Game Awards show this past Saturday.

I won’t say much about the video but some of the dialogue acknowledges some potential spoilers from The Force Awakens, if you haven’t seen it yet (still?!?). If you watch the credits, our friend Tommy Williamson from BrickNerd was also recognized for the project.

Life-Size LEGO Batmobile Displayed for European Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Premiere

To celebrate the European premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in London, England, LEGO unveiled a life-size model the Batmobile from the movie which is also seen in the DC Comics Super Heroes Kryptonite Interception (76045) set. The Batmobile was created by Bright Bricks with 100,000 bricks over three months time.

If you haven’t read my review of the Kryptonite Interception (76045), it’s a really nice set and the Batmobile is a good representation of the vehicle.
