At the beginning of the month, I reported that there was a new LEGO Architecture set based on the LEGO House (21037) as what it looks like in Billund, Denmark. There are now official images of the set which came from the LEGO Architecture website but was eventually taken down. The building instructions for the set have also been readily available as well.
As far as I know, the new LEGO Architecture LEGO House (21037) will be available in September at the LEGO House shop itself. I don’t believe that it’ll be available worldwide which is a shame as it is a great looking set.
In my next review, I have the new LEGO Seasonal Halloween Haunt (40260) set. There isn’t an official set name that’s been revealed for it but Halloween Haunt was on my receipt. It has 145 pieces and retails for $9.99. I got mine early at LEGOLAND California but it’ll be available at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Home September 1.
Earlier today, I was invited to LEGOLAND California for some big announcements for the park coming in 2018. The main attraction announced was the LEGO City: Deep Sea Adventure which is slated to open summer 2018. General Manager of LEGOLAND California, Peter Ronchetti, stated that the attraction is the park’s largest ride investment and it’s the first of its kind in North America. The ride is a 12 person submarine that takes you on a 4 minute journey though a 300,000 gallon aquarium that is filled with sea life including stingrays, sharks, and other fish.
Another thing that was announced for LEGOLAND California is a new 4D experience movie called LEGO Ninjago: Master of the 4th Dimension. There wasn’t much information about this movie but it does show the ninjas in their Hands of Time outfits.
Finally, Ronchetti talked about the new Castle Hotel that will be opening in spring 2018. Construction is well underway with the first level already completed and they’re working on the next level. There will be 200 new job openings for the Castle Hotel and for those interested in applying, you can head over to http://jobs.legoland.com/ for more information. The hotels will start taking reservations in September.
If you want to check out the press event, I’ve embedded the video below.

Next week is Force Friday II for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and LEGO will be having some promotions going on for it. One of these promos is the exclusive LEGO Star Wars Scarif Stormtrooper (40176) minifigure polybag with a purchase of $50 or more. This polybag is in the same style as the R3-M2 (40268) as it has a stand and backing card.
Minifigure
The Scarif Stormtrooper, also known as a shoretrooper, is exclusive to this set as it is different from the one in the TIE Striker (75154) and the Battle on Scarif (75171). He has on a tan armor with a sand blue stripe that goes across the top. Both of the arms are also sand blue. The legs are also tan with some brown on the upper half. He also wears a dark blue kama around the waist to signify that he is a squad leader. His accessory is a blaster rifle.
Stand
Continuing with this series of minifigure polybags, the Scarif Stormtrooper also comes with a stand. The build is the exact same as R3-M2 as it uses a black 3×4 plate to stand the minifigure on. It also has a Technic pin to connect to R3-M2’s stand.
The background card shows a sandy location, most likely on the beach of Scarif. Once again, you have the LEGO Star Wars logo on top with the copyright on the left side. It connects to the stand using a couple of Technic axles on the back. One thing to note is that, … Continue
