If you checked out the February 2017 LEGO Store Calendar here in the US, you can see there are two building events to celebrate Valentine’s Day. On February 11, there is a kids event to build a mini rose that they can take home. This event is for VIPs and requires a sign up.
Adults also get to join in on the fun on February 14 as they also have a building night. This event is from 6-8pm and it appears the rose build is the same as the one the kids get. Registration is not required but may be necessary if there is a lot of demand for it so you may want to ask an associate just in case. I know the Fashion Valley location has started taking sign ups so there is demand for it at that particular location.
When the new wave of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Mighty Micros sets were revealed last year, one of my more anticipated sets was Wolverine vs. Magneto (76073). It has 85 pieces and retails for the usual $9.99. The contents of the box include two un-numbered bags, a box with the cape, two instruction leaflets for each Mighty Micro, and another leaflet for the parts list. On the back of the parts list, there’s an ad for the upcoming winter 2017 wave of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets which are coming out in March.
Nintendo has put out the product page for LEGO City: Undercover for the Switch and there are some new details about the game. As reported before, this remastered version is not exactly a straight port and there is new information about it that supports the claim.
If you look at the game details, it states that it will now have two player co-op which is what fans wanted from the first game. It does not say online co-op so we’ll still have to see about that. That also takes us to the gameplay since, it doesn’t say if the co-op is in the Story Mode or in Free Roam. If it’s in the Story Mode, there might be changes to the game play since you don’t want both players doing the same puzzles.
At the very bottom of the product overview section, you can see that it states there will be secret Nintendo cameos for this version of LEGO City: Undercover. There were Nintendo cameos in the original game but hopefully we’ll see something different. Fans would definitely want to see minifigure characters but we’ll see if that happens or not.
There’s no word yet on the release date of LEGO City: Undercover although Amazon has it listed as April 30 but that could just be a placeholder. LEGO City: Undercover will also be released on PlayStation 4, XBox One, and on Steam.

If you want to expand your LEGO City train layout while picking up an older train set at a pretty decent price, Amazon has the Cargo Train (60052) for $139.99 which is $60.00 (30%) off the normal retail price of $199.99. This is one of the lowest prices this set has been at. Keep in mind that the Cargo Train was released in 2014 so it could be on the brink of retirement soon to make way for newer sets as it reaches it’s third year of shelf life.
Move heavy goods – and animals! – around the city with the super-powerful LEGO® City Cargo Train! This awesome motorized train with 4-channel, 7-speed, infrared remote control can transport almost anything. So it’s your job to make sure the cargo is in the right place at the right time to keep the city running smoothly. Attach the cattle wagon and 2 cargo wagons together and pull them around the circular rail track with the locomotive. Operate the forklift to move the pallets safely between the wagons and truck. Keep track of all the cargo leaving and arriving in the office at the impressive cargo train station. There you can use the sliding overhead crane with hook to move heavy cargo between vehicles or onto the ground. With so many play functions and cool features, this really is the ultimate set for train enthusiasts! Includes 4 minifigures: forklift driver, train driver, farmer and a truck driver.
The LEGO Batman Movie is set to hit theaters less than a month away and the marketing hype for it has ramped up even more. LEGO has teamed up with Chevrolet to create a life-sized version of the Batmobile as well as a dedicated website for it. It was unveiled today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and it consists of 344,187 pieces measuring at 17 feet long, 9 feet wide, and almost 7 feet tall. The construction took 222 hours to design and 1,833 hours to build.
As for the website, it is similar to what you find in a real-life vehicle including the specs and product details of the Batmobile. Some things you can find on the Batmobile include Teen Driver Technology which has safety innovations like Automatic Nerd Alert and a Scarecrow Gas Detector. You can own it for only $48,000,000 and it comes in 13 shades of black such as Jet Black and Vanta Black. There’s even a comparison chart with it going up against The Joker Notorious Lowrider (70906) and The Riddler Riddle Racer. Furthermore, there’s also an animated Chevrolet commercial for the Batmobile, similar to the ones we see on TV and online.
The LEGO Batman Movie completionists, it looks like there is another thing to collect for the upcoming movie which is a Battle Pack (853651). It is similar to other packs that LEGO has released such as for Nexo Knights and City which includes minifigures and a build. For The LEGO Batman Movie one, it has minifigures of Chief O’Hara and a couple of police officers along with a Bat-Signal build which is slightly different than the one we get from the LEGO Store exclusive Search & Find Accessory Pack (5004930).
There’s no word on when The LEGO Batman Movie Battle Pack (853651) will be available but expect to find it in LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home in the near future.
It’s that time again of the year when rumors of upcoming LEGO direct-to-consumer sets are starting to come in and for May the 4th, I’ve been told from an anonymous source that it will be the LEGO Star Wars UCS Snowspeeder (75144). I’ve correlated this information with another of my sources and they do match up so it looks like it may be true. There was talk of this set last year but there was no concrete information on it except for a listing on Brickset.
LEGO has released a UCS Snowspeeder before with set 10129 back in 2003 which had 1,455 pieces and retailed for $130 but the info I got today states the new one will go for $199.99, as UCS sets usually go for these days. If this information is correct, that means the rumored UCS Millennium Falcon could be the UCS set for the second half of the year.
