The holiday shopping season has started and surprisingly, a lot of readers have emailed in the past couple of weeks asking me to do a holiday shopping recommendations on what LEGO sets to get for presents. For my guide, I’ll be picking out five sets that I feel would be worth their price and give a short explanation on why I chose that particular set.

Delta Customs over Instagram has been giving out some details of some LEGO super hero movie sets that are coming out next year. For the Wonder Woman movie, one set that is mentioned will include Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor, and a brick-built Ares similar to Ant-Man in the Super Hero Airport Battle. There will also be some sort of plane build as well.
Next up are some sets based on Thor: Ragnarok. The first set will be some sort of a gladiator ring and has figures of Gladiator Hulk, Thor, Loki, Grandmaster, and a guard. The other set mentioned is a ship build and has a new Bruce Banner about to change into the Hulk, Thor, Valkyrie, Hela, and two henchmen.
Finally, there’s some news about more LEGO Batman Movie sets. The first set has Bane, Mutant Leader, and Batman. The second set is a Scarecrow aircraft with Scarecrow and Batman minifigures. The last set mentioned is a Two-Face vehicle and has at least Two-Face and Batman minifigures.
Although the sets mentioned about are just rumors, Delta Customs has been right before on LEGO news so they’re credible.

The Landrover 4×4 project by Dadandlad is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. It has abot 1,100 pieces and is based on the iconic Land Rover Series 3. It is very accurate to the real-life vehicle with all the details that are in it.
The Landrover 4 x 4 now joins Boat Repair Shop, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “The Bus” Hulkbuster UCS, LEGO Store Modular Version, and Red Dwarf as the projects that qualify the Third 2016 Review Stage.

Starting next week from November 28-December 11, LEGO will be giving away a FREE LEGO 2017 Colorable Wall Calendar with purchases of $75 or more, while supplies last. Without spoiling the contents of the calendar, I can tell you that each month has a scene with minifigures that kids can color which you see a preview of on the back cover. There are also two sheets of stickers included as well.
If you have this year’s Wall Calendar, you’ll notice that this calendar doesn’t have any coupons for any future promotions. Unfortunately for next year, it doesn’t look like LEGO will be continuing with that promo, at least here in the US, which is bummer since there were some neat items on it even though they were small.
I feel that the LEGO 2017 Colorable Wall Calendar will be most beneficial for teachers as they can take apart the pages and photocopy the ones with the scenes for the kids. Thank you to the LEGO Shop@Home Affiliate Team for sending me one to review.

We’re getting close to the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend and for the last couple of years, LEGO has been giving away some great holiday sets for their gift with purchase promo and it looks like 2016 continues the trend.

For this year, LEGO will be giving away the Seasonal Snowglobe (40223) with purchases of $99 or more from November 25-28, while supplies last. VIP members already got early access to the set this past weekend. The Snowglobe consists of a 215 pieces which are in three un-numbered bags. If you check the parts inventory, there are a number of rare pieces in this set.

The build of the Snowglobe is in three parts, the base, globe area, and the pull-out drawer.
The base is 8×8 house-type setting with windows on the sides and a hole in the front for the drawer later on.

For the globe area, you have the Santa minifigure inside along with a Christmas tree. There are also fourteen 1×1 white round tiles to represent the snow.

Lastly, you have the drawer which is also the front of the house complete with the door and torches. You’ll notice that when building the drawer, there are some unsightly yellow bricks that do not match the overall color scheme of the Snowglobe itself.

Overall, the LEGO Seasonal Snowglobe (40223) is a very neat set. Although we’ve seen some good sets during the holidays in the past, this year’s set is probably one of the best produced so far. The “snow” pieces don’t actually float but … Continue

WB Games has announced that LEGO City: Undercover will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC/Steam in Spring 2017. If you remember, LEGO City: Undercover lets you take control of Chase McCain in sort of a toned down Grand Theft Auto-style game that was released for the Nintendo Wii U back in 2013.
If you’re a LEGO City collector, there was a Chase McCain Minifigure Polybag (5000281) that was released with pre-orders of the game and he was eventually released in the High Speed Chase (60007) and will be coming back again in 2017 with the High-Speed Chase (60138).
