Toys R Us Exclusive LEGO Musicians Minifigure (55004421) Collection Shows Up Online

LEGO Minifigure Collection Musicians (55004421)

Remember when Toys R Us did exclusive LEGO Minifigure Collections for Bricktober before they changed to the Mini Modular sets the last few years? It looks like they might be making a comeback as Brickset has found that a new Minifigure Collection set has shown up online for TRU Germany and selling for 14.99€. This set is the first of four Minifigure Collections for this year and it features Musicians (55004421) which looks like it’s just a mix of various minifigure parts including some from the LEGO Collectible Minifigures line. Currently it only ships to Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Poland but hopefully when October comes around, they will be available here in the States as well.

LEGO Ideas The Plum Creek – The Little House on the Prairie Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Plum Creek – The Little House on the Prairie project by SeigneurFett is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project is based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s story about her childhood in a settler family in the northern Midwest during the late 19th centure. The stories later became a hit TV series during the 70s. As you can see from the image above, you have the house and the farm as seen in the show with play features in each.

Who knew that one more project will be entering the Second 2016 Review Stage with so little time left but it did. It now joins Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, the Merchant’s House, the Large Hadron Collider, LEGO Observatory – Mountain View, Modular Construction Site, the Women of NASA, Star Wars UCS X34 Landspeeder, Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, and Lovelace & Babbage as the projects that qualify for the Review Stage. Good luck to LEGO trying to figure out which project from this list will become an official LEGO Ideas.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159) Preview

We already know that the not-so-secret LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159) will be coming next month as a VIP early access set. There are now non-leaked images of the set coming out of the Arundel Mills LEGO Brand Store in Maryland with an employee building the set in full view in front of customers.

While we wait for LEGO to send over the official details of the Death Star, we can see that it’s pretty much the recently retired Death Star (10188) but with small updates. For those who missed out on the previous set, you can now get this new version with updated minifigures being one of the highlights.

We should be getting the official announcement in a few days but rumor has it that the set will go for $499.99. Sound off in the comments below of what you think of the set.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Toys R Us Captain America Instructions

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes TRU Captain America

Earlier today, there was a LEGO Marvel Super Heroes building event at Toys R Us stores around the US. The model for this event was a 72-piece Captain America mosaic. My friend Charlie has sent over a scan of the instructions for the build. Although it looks like tile pieces were used for the event, they were actually standard bricks so it’ll be pretty easy to make your own if you have the parts.

LEGO Ideas Lovelace & Babbage Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Lovelace & Babbage project by Stewart Cromar, aka stubot, is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. If you’re just looking at the image and are not familiar with the names, you may be wondering what it is about but if you are familiar with the names, you’ll know that this project is a science-based project based on the Analytical Engine, a mechanical general-purpose computer.

Lovelace & Babbage barely sneaks into the Second 2016 Review Stage and it now joins Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, the Merchant’s House, the Large Hadron Collider, LEGO Observatory – Mountain View, Modular Construction Site, the Women of NASA, Star Wars UCS X34 Landspeeder, and Lamborghini Veneno Roadster as the projects that qualify for the Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book

I rarely post about LEGO Ideas projects as I get so many request to feature a particular one but this Pop-Up Book by Jason Allemann and Grant Davis has really caught my eye. It is a very original idea that I haven’t seen much before of on LEGO Ideas. The book has a simple mechanism that uses Technic beams to make the scene to rise up from the book just like the pop-up books you may have read before as a child. As you can see from the video below, the scenes can be easily changed to your liking and they have shown off a couple of scenes with the cottage, western building, and a castle.

If you see what you like and would think this project would make a great official LEGO set, head over to LEGO Ideas to show your support.

Akro-Mils 64 Drawer Cabinet on Sale at Amazon

If you’re looking for some extra storage for your LEGO parts, Amazon, as of this writing, has a sale going on for their 64-drawer Akro-Mils cabinet for $25.97 which is 39% off the normal price. Akro-Mils and Stack-On cabinets are some of the more popular storage options but currently Akro-Mils has a slightly better drawer/price ratio.

LEGO builder Tom Alphin made a post a few years ago regarding his storage system and he also uses the same Akro-Mils 64 Drawer which is currently on sale. In addition, the Akro-Mils 24 Drawer cabinet is at $19.97 which is 51% off the list price.
