Recent LEGO Contest Winners Announced

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 15 (71011)

It seems that I never announced the winners of some of the LEGO contests that I had running the past couple of weeks. The first is for a complete set of Series 15 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71011) which goes to:

Wayne A

The other contest was for the LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter (5004468) minifigure and that one goes to:

Steven W

Arrangements have already been made to get the items to the winners. Also remember that voting is still going for a few more days on for the LEGO Architecture Building Contest which is turning to be a very close contest. If you haven’t checked it out yet, head over to the post and have a look.

LEGO has officially announced the LEGO DFB German National Football Team Minifigure Series (71014). They will only be available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland starting on May 14 and will be €2.99 each. The players included in the set are:

If you are looking them, good luck trying to feel for them as they don’t really have any easy identifiers besides the hair pieces. Each player will have a soccer ball piece while the coach will have a clipboard tile piece. Each jersey is unique with their names printed on the back and if you look closely, there’s also the Adidas logo on front of the jerseys.

LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures (71012) Showing Up at Target

LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures (71012)

Well it looks like it has finally started here in the US. A user over at Reddit has found some of the new LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures (71012) being put out a couple of weeks early of their scheduled release date of May 1st. The ones found in the thread were in Denver, CO but that’s the only one I found that has reported on them being out early. The details of the Disney Minifigures are the same as previous Collectible Minifigures series. They are $3.99 each and the DPCI number is 204-00-1379.

Good luck on your hunt as even if you find them, the store may not be able to sell them to you because of the May 1 street date. I wouldn’t go out of your way to find them as I feel most stores may not have them out yet. If you do find some, let us know in the comments what cities have them as fans may appreciate the gesture.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Character Encyclopedia Book Review

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Character Encyclopedia

A week ago, DK’s latest edition of a LEGO Character Encyclopedia was released with the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Character Encyclopedia. This 208 page book details a lot of the sets and minfigures that have been released since 2006 up until the winter 2016 sets. One of the main features of the book is the exclusive minifigure that is included which I’ll get to later.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Character Encyclopedia

The LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Character Encyclopedia starts off with the table of contents which is somewhat useful but to an extent. I felt that it’s more useful when searching for a set or minifigure by year, if you know it, since there is no index in the back of the book which I think would be a much better help when searching for a particular item.

For each set or minifigure, there are lots of information on the page like the description and spotlights various area to give even more info. Also there’s a small section what the book calls “vital stats” which includes details such as owner, used for, and gear for sets and likes, dislikes, friends, foes, skills, and gear for minifigures. Below that, it also gives details of the set names, numbers, and the year it was released. As I mentioned before, the encyclopedia is updated to the current wave of LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes sets including the Mighty Micros.

LEGO DFB German National Football Team Minifigure Series (71014) Revealed

Earlier this year at the 2016 Nuremberg Toy Fair, it was announced that there will be a special LEGO Collectible Minifigure series that is based on the German National Football Team, DFB (Die Mannschaft). It looks like we have a first look at the LEGO DFB Minifigure Series (71014) courtesy of PromoBricks.

As you can see above, there are 15 players, including the goalkeeper, along with the coach Joachim Löw. It is unknown at this time which players are chosen for the team but if you look closely at the jerseys, we do see the Adidas logo which means there could be some sort of licensing agreement with the clothing company.

It was previously known that The Team (71014) will be available May 14 and will be retailing for €2.99. It is also speculated that they will only be available in Germany.

Update: The minifigures have been officially announced. They will be available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The Brick Fan LEGO Architecture Building Contest Voting

Last month, I started the Architecture Building Contest on here to have readers create some miniature buildings and monuments of their real life counterpart in the new Architecture Skyline design to win some cool prizes. There are some really awesome entries over in the Flickr Group but unfortunately one of the entries wasn’t based on a real life city, which was stated in the rules, so I can’t include it in the voting process but it was a very good one though based on Batman’s Gotham.

Check out the builds below and if you need a reference to the real life building, I’ve also linked to images of them. Then cast your vote in the Strawpoll link below of which Architecture build resembles the real life buildings the best. The voting period will run until 11:59pm PST on April 16. The city with the most votes will be declared the winner of our very first contest!

Update: After a slight error, there was another entry that wasn’t previously added. Please recast your vote in the link below.
