LEGO Minifigures Online Appears to be Cancelling in October

It appears that the LEGO Minifigures Online video game will be ending later this year when the licensing agreement ends in October. Funcom has released their annual report and the numbers did not meet the forecasts of the company, mainly with the lack of players and revenue generated.

The beta version of LEGO Minifigures Online was first introduced in 2013 when it was a free-to-play MMO game model with microtransactions in game. It was then relaunched into a full game in 2015 and it was changed to a buy-to-play business model where you purchase the full game first.

The game had a tie-in with the physical LEGO Collectible Minifigures which included codes to unlock specific minifigures in game, each with their own abilities.

Funcom communicated in the Q3 2014 report that the initial numbers coming in from the first weeks of live data indicated that it would take longer than planned to achieve the internal targets for player and revenue in 2014 and 2015. The Company has during 2015 been unable to improve these numbers. As a result of this the revenues generated by LEGO® Minifigures Online did not meet the internal forecasts. The Company has therefore fully written off the underlying assets of the game. As of the time of this annual report, the Company does not find it likely that any of the game metrics will improve, and has adjusted its investment in the game accordingly. The license agreement with LEGO for the LEGO® Minifigures Online game ends October 2016.

LEGO Star Wars Rebel Combat Frigate (75158) Official Images Revealed

LEGO Star Wars Rebel Combat Frigate (75158)

Well it looks like the official images of the LEGO Star Wars Rebel Combat Frigate (75158) that I reported on a few days ago has been revealed by Jacob_9821 over on Eurobricks. The set is a store exclusive and it has 938 pieces and includes minifigures of Ahsoka Tano, C1-10P (Chopper), Ezra Bridger, Captain Sato, and Agent Kallus. As you can see, the minifigure for Ahsoka has been updated with a normal face and she also has trans-blue blades for her lightsabers.

LEGO City Fun in the Park – City People Pack (60134) Now Available at Toys R Us

LEGO City Fun in the Park - City People Pack (60134)

There are numerous reports that some of the summer 2016 LEGO City sets have been released at Toys R Us including the highly anticipated Fun in the Park – City People Pack (60134). Technically it won’t officially be available at other places like Shop@Homeicon on May 22 but you can get it a week early at retail price of $39.99. Your mileage may vary but there’s a good chance they have it in the back if it’s not on the floor. Plus for getting it, there’s also a promotion going on for a free LEGO Ninjago Battle Pack with purchases of $30 or more.

Spend a great day in the park with some LEGO City residents, with playground equipment, picnic table, park bench, hot dog cart, 14 minifigures, and baby and dog figures.

Meet a bunch of new people spending a beautiful day in the park! Help the father watch his baby, while the kids play in the playground with their grandparents. Buy a hot dog at the cart and enjoy a bite to eat on the park bench, before getting back to work with the painter. Watch out for the dog though, he’ll grab your food if you’re not careful. This is the perfect pack to populate your city!

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Tanker Truck Takedown (76067) Official Images Revealed

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Tanker Truck Takedown (76067)

Jacob_9821 over on Eurobricks has just posted the official images of the last LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Civil War set with the Tanker Truck Takedown (76067). The set has 330 pieces and includes minifigures of Captain America, Hawkeye, Vision, and of course, Spider-Man. One of the main reasons why this set is a summer release is probably to conceal that Spider-Man will be in Civil War. The set looks decent but the main draw is in the minifigures. The Tanker Truck Takedown (76067) is reported to be a Toys R Us exclusive set.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Order General (5004406) Listed on Toy R Us

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Order General (5004406)

The LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Order General (5004406) minifigure polybag is finally listed on Toys R Us’ website for $4.99. This most likely means that it should be showing in stores here in the US as part of an upcoming promotion. This minifigure was first released as a promo in TRU Hong Kong and after a few months, it will finally be available here. The character isn’t too special but polybag collectors would want it anyways. I’ll try to check the status of the minifigure when I get to work tomorrow. The item number is 553205 if you’re searching for it in stores.

Update: I’ve checked the system and there are 6,300 polybags at the closest distribution center here in California waiting to be sent out to stores in nearby states. There’s still no word on when they will be available.

LEGO Ninjago “Time to Close the Circle”

LEGO Ninjago Fall 2016

Earlier today, LEGO posted the above image on their social media networks of what appears to be a new storyline for LEGO Ninjagoicon which includes the caption “Time to Close the Circle.” The image shows Cole holding a lantern with Ninjago City in the background. Does this mean the end for LEGO Ninjago animated TV series as they wrap up the show with the “Rise of the Villains” subtheme just in time for the LEGO Ninjago Movie or is it just the beginning? What are your thoughts on this mysterious image?
