LEGO Seasonal Holiday Christmas Train (40138)

I’m not sure if this is intentional or not but the instructions for the upcoming LEGO Seasonal Christmas Train (40138) to their servers early and can they can be downloaded in PDF format. The Christmas Train is part of the free 2015 holiday promotion starting on October 13-November 13 with purchases of $99 or more. If you want to build your own, head over to the Building Instructions section on LEGO’s website to download your copy of the Christmas Train. The only thing you’ll be missing is the cool looking holiday box that the set comes in.

Thanks to Josh for emailing in about it.

LEGO Ideas Jurassic Park Explorer Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Jurassic Park Explorer by senteosan is the latest project to get 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This is the fourth project by senteosan to achieve this feat with two of them still in review. This is the first project to hit 10,000 supporters for the Third 2015 LEGO Review Stage.

The Jurassic Park Explorer features the iconic vehicle from the first movie. The project also includes minifigures of Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm.

DC’s Super Hero Girls Animated Short

USA Today has released the first animated short for the new DC’s Super Hero Girls series. If you remember back in April, Warner Bros. announced that LEGO will also be producing sets based on this series. There’s still no word yet on of the characters of Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Bumblebee, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Katana will be actual minifigures or mini-dolls similar to the Friends and Elves themes. I have a feeling that it’ll be the latter.

The LEGO Group will also be key to building the DC Super Hero Girls franchise, leveraging their experience and success engaging girls in creative construction play to bolster this universe through an array of LEGO® building sets designed to inspire girls’ imaginations.

LEGO Nexo Knights First Official Image

LEGO Nexo Knights

I’ve briefly talked about the new LEGO Nexo Knights theme for 2016 but due to watermarked images and whatnot, there haven’t been any official images of it until now. The fine folks over at Brickset has revealed the first image of the upcoming theme which comes from the latest Australian LEGO Club Magazine. In the image, you can see some of the Knights like Clay, Macy, Axle, Aaron, and Lance as well as the villains Jestro, Moltor, and Lavaria.

As mentioned before, Nexo Knights will be LEGO’s next big original IP which replaces Legends of Chima and will include a major media campaign to go along with it including a TV show, books, and so on.

Now that we’ve seen an official image of LEGO Nexo Knights, what do you think so far?

LEGO October 2015 Double VIP Points Promotion Now Live

It’s October on the east coast and that means purchases will now earn you double VIP points on LEGO Shop@Home and at LEGO Brand Stores. Even though the Store Calendar shows the Double Points promotion only shows it running from October 1-4, it’s been confirmed that it will actually run until October 14. This extension also overlaps with the free exclusive LEGO Creator Holiday Train (40138) starting on October 13 so I have a feeling that many people will be waiting to kill two birds with one stone.

If you’re planning on doing the double VIP points, what are you planning to purchase? For me, I’ll probably be picking up the UCS Slave I (75060)icon and some others in the collection that I’m missing. Let me know in the comments below of what you’ll be getting.

Tires for LEGO DC Comics Bat-Pod (5004590) Available Again on Bricks & Pieces

If you’re still trying to piece together the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Bat-Pod (5004590), you’ll find that the hardest part to find is probably the tires because they are only available in The Tumbler (76023). Many have been trying to purchase them off Brick & Pieces but they’ve been out of stock for a while. The good news is that they are now available to purchase again at a decent price of $11.02 per tire which is a bargain compared to $30+ sellers are asking for on BrickLink. I highly suggest that you purchase them now before they go out of stock again. The only downside from ordering from Bricks & Pieces is that you won’t earn any LEGO VIP points or qualify for any promotions that are going on.

Update: And it’s sold out again. I won’t keep updating on its availability. You’ll have to keep checking when it comes back in stock.
