LEGO Ninjago 2016 Set Descriptions

I had thought about skipping this post but a number of reader have messaged me wanting the details of the LEGO Ninjago Winter 2016 sets. Toys R Us Canada has posted a few of the sets online including the descriptions. As mentioned before, season six will revolve around Ninjas and Pirates which is evident in the details below.

Cole’s Dragon (70599)

Face-off against sky pirate Bucko with Ninja warrior Cole’s Dragon, featuring a posable neck, wings and legs. Free the trapped Zane’ element from the special Djinn blade and ride away victorious! Includes 2 minifigures: Cole and Bucko.

Includes 2 minifigures: Cole and Bucko.
Cole’s Dragon features a posable neck, wings and legs, golden details and LEGO elements in Cole’s characteristic black and brown colours.
Weapons include a transparent Djinn Blade with trapped Zane’ element and Bucko’s pirate sword.

Ninja Bike Chase (70600)

Set off in pursuit of sky pirate Sqiffy’s flyer with Kai and Nya’s bikes. Kai’s bike features fold-out cutting’ golden Ninja blades and hidden cannons/boosters, while Nya’s bike is equipped with an adjustable elemental water cannon to target the flyer. Evade the flyer’s bombs and battle to free the trapped Cole’ element from the special Djinn blade. Includes 3 minifigures with assorted weapons: Kai, Nya and Sqiffy.

The Martian LEGO T-Shirt on TeeFury

Teefury has a new LEGO t-shirt today that is based on Matt Damon’s latest movie, The Martian. The shirt shows an astronaut growing some crops on what appears to be on Mars which had a similar scene in the movie. The shirt starts at $11 and comes in black, brown, and navy. There about 10 hours left to purchase the shirt if you want one.

LEGO Releases Official Statement Regarding WALL·E (21303)

LEGO has finally posted an official statement regarding the head swivel issue for the WALL·E (21303) set on the LEGO Ideas blog. It’s pretty much the same thing that was said on a customer’s email that I reported on yesterday. The only difference is that they’ve updated the stock availability to it being shipped in 30 days.

If you’ve already purchased WALL·E, contact Customer Service to get the updated parts when they’re available.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Theatrical Poster Recreated in LEGO

Yesterday, Star Wars revealed the official poster for The Force Awakens and it didn’t take very long for someone to recreate it in LEGO. This has been making the rounds today on social media but Macro LEGO Universe has pretty much spot on made the official poster using LEGO minifigures.

LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) Set Description

It looks like Toys R Us Canada has starting listing more information about 2016 LEGO Sets as they have posted the set description for the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827). This pretty much confirms the rumor of this particular set. Important things to note is that it will retail for $399.99 CAD and contains a whopping 9 minifigures including Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler, Winston Zeddemore, Janine Melnitz, Dana Barrett, Louis Tully, Library Ghost and Zombie Driver.

Also note that the image above is not the official set as it is based on Brent Waller’s LEGO CUUSOO project.

Recreate iconic Ghostbusters scenes with the 2-story Firehouse Headquarters, featuring laboratory, living quarters, containment unit and much more. Capture the ghosts with the proton packs and restore order, or solve other supernatural cases! LEGO Star Wars 2016 Set Descriptions

Toys R Us Canada has listed set descriptions of some of the 2016 LEGO Star Wars sets. These are just a few of the sets that are scheduled to be released in the beginning of the year. I’ll update this list as soon as more have been listed online. Thanks to Steve for emailing in about it.

The Ghost (75127)

Launch into the fantastic world of collectible LEGO Microfighters with this miniaturized version of Hera Syndulla’s personal starship, The Ghost, featuring a stud shooter with extra ammo and space to sit the included Hera minifigure with blaster pistol.

LEGO Working on LEGO Ideas WALL·E (21303) Head Issue

As we know by now, the release of the LEGO Ideas WALL·E (21303) has been nothing short of a complete disaster. It was originally set for release on September 1st but it has since been delayed and has been listed for a February 2016 release on Shop@Home. The limited amount of sets that have shown up at LEGO Brand have already been sold out or recalled with no mentioning of the reason. Presumably it’s because of the weak neck joint but as I and many others have reported, it’s mainly because of the swiveling head.

A post on Reddit from LEGO Customer Service has noted that WALL·E’s head is indeed a problem and this is the first time that we’ve heard LEGO acknowledging it after numerous complaints from various outlets. They also state that they’re working on a fix for the head with a new solution in the next couple of weeks. My guess is that the second wave of recalls is to fix the head swivel which was a problem from the very beginning. I’m not sure why LEGO didn’t fix it when they recalled it the first time for the neck. Stay tuned as we get details on when the LEGO Ideas WALL•E (21303) will be available for purchase again. If you already have the set ahead of this fix, you can either call or email LEGO Customer Service and they’ll most likely send you the parts.
