LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Bat-Pod (5004590) Winners Being Notified

Back in June, LEGO held a contest to giveaway a limited edition LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Bat-Pod (5004590) to some lucky fans. LEGO has finally chosen the winners and emails like the one below are being sent out. I’m not sure if they’re all went out at one time or going out in batches so check your spam folders for an email from [email protected] if you’re from the US/CA. Europeans will be notified from [email protected]. After you get the email, you aren’t the winner yet. You’ll have to respond to the email to claim your prize by the end of next week. Congrats to all the winners and hopefully someone is kind enough to post the instructions for those who want to recreate their own.

LEGO 2016 Set Name Listings on Amazon.de

Today Amazon.de has upload a ton of listings for various upcoming LEGO 2016 sets. There were many posts on Eurobricks on these listings but I’ve organized them alphabetically by theme. Thanks to CM4sci for the heads up. The set names are loosely translated from German so they might not be the official names but they give you an idea of what the sets are. This list does correspond to the list that came out a few days ago.

Update: LEGO has asked sites to remove the list. Amazon.de messed up and accidentally posted it just a little bit too early. Sorry folks.

LEGO Ninjago 2016 Sets Names Found on Amazon.de

A few days ago, I reported on a possible set list name for various 2016 LEGO themes. Today it looks like more information has come out on Amazon.de of the 2016 LEGO Ninago sets. The names are in German but they’ve been loosely translated but they do correspond to the list a few days ago. This also may give us more clues about the theme. As I reported from SDCC 2015, the direction may be headed to a Pirates theme and it may seem like that with the Black Widow Island Set. Thanks to CM4sci for the heads up.

The Art of LEGO Scale Modeling

Our friends over at No Starch Press has sent over a press release for their upcoming book, The Art of LEGO Scale Modeling. This new book by Dennis Glaasker and Dennis Bosman takes a look at some real-life vehicles recreated with LEGO by various builders. It doesn’t look like there are instructions on how to build them but there are tips and tricks that describe the design and building process. You can pre-order the book over at No Starch or on Amazon.

The Art of LEGO Scale Modeling
New book showcases fan-built LEGO models of real vehicles

San Francisco, CA (August 4, 2015) — The LEGO scale modeling community brings a miniature world to life with artistry, skill, and patience—a world inhabited by remarkably detailed scale models of real trucks, ships, planes, race cars, and even construction vehicles. Some of these models are so intricate, they’re easy to mistake for the real thing.

In The Art of LEGO Scale Modeling (No Starch Press, $29.95, 204pp., Sept. 2015), authors Dennis Glaasker and Dennis Bosman are our guides to this unique world. These two veteran builders, who have been scale modeling with LEGO since the 1970s, are now releasing a stunning and fascinating new book that belongs on the coffee table in every LEGO-loving household.

For the first time, we’re invited into the world of twenty-four of the most talented LEGO scale modelers, who showcase models like the Tyr Viking, a four-foot-long ship constructed from more than 20,000 LEGO elements; a Caterpillar bulldozer complete with two
