LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes SDCC 2015 Exclusive Action Comics #1 Superman Building Instructions

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes SDCC 2015 Exclusive Action Comics #1 Superman

I few days ago at San Diego Comic Con 2015, a very good friend by the name of Ryan surprised me with one of the exclusive LEGO sets that were sold, the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Action Comics #1 Superman. I’m very grateful because I wasn’t able to pick up the set Thursday morning. Here I’m doing something that LEGO collectors and reseller will probably hate but people who weren’t able to get the set at SDCC or general LEGO fans will appreciate. I’ve opened the set and have provided every with instructions on how to build your own version of Action Comics #1.

Included with the instructions are the parts list so you can BrickLink the parts you need. Most of the parts are pretty common but there are some that have just been released and pretty rare at this time including the yellow 1×1 plate with clip 6071270, the yellow 6L bar 6109813, the dark green modified brick with curved top 6100223, and the front grill 6021687. The only brand new piece is the dark green roof 6135573 so you may have to find a substitute until that piece is more widely available. Superman is the same one we’ve had before. You can check out the full review of the set here.

Below are the images of the steps to create the set but if it’s too small, head on over to my Flickr album and you can check out larger images of them.

Update: After many, many, many requests, I have … Continue

LEGO BIONICLE SDCC 2015 Exclusive Skull Scorpio Mask Review

LEGO BIONICLE SDCC 2015 Skull Scorpio Mask

For the final review of the San Diego Comic Con 2015 LEGO free exclusive giveaways, I have the LEGO BIONICLE Skull Scorpio Mask. This mask is the same mold as the upcoming Skull Scorpio (70794) set except that it is trans-neon green. As usual, the packaging is the plastic clamshell that all the other free exclusives have been in. The cardboard inside shows some nice artwork of something. Honestly, I do not collect LEGO BIONICLE so I don’t know the terminology of things that are part of the theme but I know there are a lot of readers who are so if you recognize what’s printed on the card, let me know.

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers SDCC 2015 Panel + Character Reveals

LEGO Marvel's Avengers SDCC 2015 Panel

Earlier today at San Diego Comic Con 2015, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment held a panel for LEGO Marvel’s Avengersicon. The panel was moderated by Greg Miller and the panel included Arthur Parsons, Matt Ellison, Bill Rosemann, and Mike Jones. During the panel, the legendary Stan Lee even made a special appearance and he announced that he is now a full fledged Avenger and he will be a playable character in the game including using the Iron Stan suit as well as the Stanbuster suit which has a built in typewriter. He’ll also make cameos throughout LEGO Marvel’s Avengers.

TT Games also revealed some more playable characters in the game including Wiccan, America Chavez (Miss America), Crossbones, Detroit Steel, and Sam Wilson’s Captain America. There will also be numerous villains that will be playable as well but they didn’t reveal anyone but did mention they worked harder on the villains’ skills more than the heroes’ skills. The panel also showed off a new way to change characters including Tony Stark’s different Iron Man Suits.

Finally, everyone who attended the panel was given a ticket and it was to redeem a cool exclusive LEGO Marvel’s Avengers t-shirt featuring Hulk beating up Loki.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes SDCC 2015 Exclusive All New Captain America (Sam Wilson) Review

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes SDCC 2015 All New Captain America (Sam Wilson)

In my second review of the San Diego Comic Con 2015 LEGO exclusives, I have in hand the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes All New Captain America (Sam Wilson) minifigure. This version of Captain America is based on the new Marvel Secret Wars event where Sam Wilson, formerly the Falcon, has taken the reigns of Captain America.

Like with the other SDCC LEGO exclusive minifigures, Captain America is packaged in the small clamshell with a piece of cardboard to show the background. The background itself has the Secret Wars logo with some meteors falling with the red, white, and blue. The bottom left corner does show “San Diego Comic Con International 2015 Exclusive” so this minifigure might not show up in future sets.

The Sam Wilson Captain America minifigure has some great printing throughout and there are many small details that make the minifigure a definite pick up. The torso is mostly blue with the white star and wings. The lower area of the torso has some red to round out the colors of the flag. The belt buckle is one of the details that stand out for me. The legs are blue and red with the red part being the boots that are half printed on the front, side, and back. The head is mostly white representing the mask Sam wears with some red goggles. One nice thing to note is that he has a double-sided head with a smiling expression on one side and a stern look on the other. The hair is the slick … Continue

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes SDCC 2015 Exclusive Arsenal Minifigure Review

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes SDCC 2015 Arsenal

On the first day of San Diego Comic Con 2015, LEGO did a raffle for the first exclusive minifigure for this year, the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Arsenal, aka Roy Harper, from the hit television series Arrow. The packaging is the same clamshell plastic that has been used the last few years. The cardboard shows a nice dark background of a city and the words “San Diego Comic Con International 2015 Exclusive” on the bottom left corner. The back of the cardboard doesn’t have any special details except the usual legal wording.

For the Arsenal minifigure itself, the torso has some very nice dark red print on both the front and back of the jacket. There are some harness buckles on the left and right of the torso as well as a buckle around the waist. The back of the torso shows his quiver filled with arrows. The legs are black with more buckles on each of the legs. Arsenal wears a red mask and to much of many people, he does include a double-sided head with an angry expression on the other. He also wears a red hood that’s a similar mold to the green ones we’ve seen before. Finally, his accessory is the black bow.

Overall, the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Arsenal is a pretty cool minifigure, especially to Arrow fans. Unfortunately for fans who aren’t able to attend SDCC, the only way to get this minifigure, at this time, is through the secondary market and from looking at eBay, they’re … Continue

LEGO Dimensions Doctor Who Incarnations Closeup Look

LEGO Dimensions Doctor Who First Doctor

If you didn’t catch all the different Doctors in the San Diego Comic Con LEGO Dimensions Doctor Who trailer video, I’ve taken screenshots of all thirteen Doctors that is included with the Doctor Who Level Pack (71204) since I got a few emails wanting close up shots of them. All twelve incarnations as well as the War Doctor are all playable characters in the game and a cool mechanic is that if you die while playing the Doctor, you’ll return as the 1st Doctor and regenerate all the way back up to the current 12th Doctor. Which incarnation are you looking forward to playing as? Check out more details of the Doctor Who Level Pack in the official press release below.

Fans who want more Doctor Who in LEGO Dimensions will be able to purchase theDoctor Who Level Pack which includes an additional mission-based Doctor Who level, along with a LEGO minifigure of the 12th Doctor and LEGO models of the TARDIS and K-9, all playable in the game. When the 12th Doctor is defeated in the level, he returns as the 1st Doctor and then regenerates back up to the 12th Doctor again. The interior of the TARDIS will reflect the corresponding Doctor the player embodies or can be manually selected. There’s even a jukebox inside where players can choose among different versions of the Doctor Who theme music. The TARDIS and K-9 models can each be physically built and then rebuilt twice to do entirely different things in the digital game for massive
