Continuing with LEGO t-shirts for today, there’s a brand new one on TeeFury which features a mash-up of The LEGO Movie’s Emmet with Tron called Emmetron by DJKopet. The shirt comes in navy blue, black, or charcoal and is priced starting at $11. Fans of both movies will surely like the design of it. As of this writing, there’s about 8 hours left to purchase the shirt.
If you missed out on the Bill Nye/Neil deGrasse Tyson LEGO minifigure t-shirt a few months ago, there’s now another chance to purchase it on ShirtPunch. The shirt features two very respected men in the field of science and they are immortalized as minifigs in this returning t-shirt. It only comes in navy blue but sizes start at $10 which is a little cheaper than the previous one.
WB Games has released the newest trailer for LEGO Jurassic World as well as a promo image filled with characters and dinosaurs that will you can play as in the video game. The Brick Show is back with another review of a LEGO City set that we haven’t seen pictures of yet, the Deep Sea Operations Base (60096). The reason for us not knowing about the set is because it’ll be a store exclusive but it’s unknown which retailer it will be. The set has 907 pieces and it consists of a lot of builds to it including a sea plane, the operations base, a little raft, a small submarine, and a little rock formation with treasure. The pricing is also unknown at this point but I’m guessing it’ll be upwards of $90. Check out Stephen’s review of the set below.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word “exclusive” means 1) excluding or having power to exclude or 2) limiting or limited to possession, control, or use by a single individual or group. Back in March, GameStop announced that their pre-order bonus for the upcoming LEGO Jurassic World video game would be the Gallimimus Trap Polybag (30320) which clearly states that it’s a GameStop exclusive. Brickset’s listing has the same exact polybag being available at Toy R Us Canada that was going to be available this month. A Reddit post confirms Brickset’s availability note and is currently selling for $5.99 CA. A comment in the same thread states that the Gallimimus Trap will also be available at US TRU for a promo starting the week of June 21.
This brings up the question of what exactly is an exclusive anymore? To me, it means that the particular item is unique and attached to one promo and wouldn’t be sold anywhere else which was the case of previously released LEGO games. For the LEGO Jurassic World video game, all of the known exclusives so far aren’t really exclusives as they are available already or will be available at another retailer such as Toys R Us. For example, the Dr. Wu Target exclusive is the same minifigure as in the Indominus rex Breakout (75919). Personally, I’ll be doing the GameStop pre-order for the polybag but it stings a little that the polybag bonus isn’t really an exclusive. I guess it’s a good thing for LEGO collectors in … Continue
We’ve reported on many LEGO polybags that have shown up on the Toys R Us website but haven’t seen it actually in stores but FBTB seems to have the inside scoop on a couple of them for some upcoming promotions. First up is the LEGO Star Wars TIE Advanced Prototype (30275) which will be part of a promo starting on May 24.
The other polybag that’s been very sought for is the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes The Joker Bumper Car (30303). That one won’t be “available” until the week of August 9. What’s interesting about this one is that I’ve already seen a couple of people in the US who have been able to purchase this polybag from their local store as early as last week and I’m not sure why the promo listed is so far out. I’ve also reported that the Joker Bumper car could be available at Target as well but there hasn’t been any sightings of it over there yet. Of course for people in the UK, it will be be available this Sunday as part of their Daily Mail promo.
As soon as the promotions are over, TRU will most likely sell them for $3.99 each or if you’re lucky with the cashiers, they’ll probably just sell you one individually.
The new LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel (10247) is now available for purchase for LEGO VIP members. Make sure you are logged into your account to be able to purchase it. The set will also be available at LEGO Stores so be there early to assure that you’ll be able to get one.
