One of the most highly anticipated movies of the year will be releasing next week with Avengers: Age of Ultron. The second TV spot for the movie was released last month and our friends over at Toscano Bricks has recreated the whole trailer in LEGO using some of the recently released sets. Check out both versions of the TV spot below to see the remarkable similarities.
Friends of the site Kelly, aka Kelyn39, along with her sons informed us of an upcoming Toys R Us LEGO building event that will be held on May the 4th weekend on Sunday May 3 from 12-2pm. For this event, kids will be able to build a mini LEGO Star Wars Wookiee Gunship. The build has a similar shape to the 75084 set but at a smaller scale.
This will most likely be a very popular event and inventory will probably run out very quick. I do highly suggest that you get there at least a hour early to get in line as these type of Toys R Us building events can get really busy. I’m not sure how I missed this but Ript Apparel has a cool LEGO Adventure Time t-shirt available today. Unfortunately, I was late knowing about about this shirt and there is only about 5 hours left to purchase it for $11. The shirt is named “Everything is Shmowzow” and features Finn and Jake as minifigure heads. This is a pretty cool shirt for any Adventure Time fan.
Mark your calendars! Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. has given the release dates of three of the upcoming LEGO movies in the next few years. The LEGO Batman spinoff movie will be released on February 10, 2017 and the LEGO Ninjago spinoff movie will move from 2016 to September 22, 2017. Finally, The LEGO Movie Sequel will be slated for May 18, 2018.
Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution notes, “We are very excited about dating our upcoming Lego animated features, which already have a worldwide fan following, built on the foundation of the first film. These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come.”
There’s still no new information about the Batman and Ninjago movies but there have been tidbids on The LEGO Movie Sequel. We know that it’ll take place four years after the first one and Emmet and Wyldstyle will be back along with more female characters. Below is the official press release:

Confirms the LEGO Pieces of its Animation Slate into 2018

There have been reports that the LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009) has started to show up at various Target stores and being displayed on endcaps like the ones you see in the image above and on the shelves. Unfortunately, many of the stores have a strict release date of May 1st so they won’t even sell them even if they’re displayed on the floor which is such a tease. However you might get real lucky and find some stores that will sell them but that’s pretty rare. The Target DPCI for the Series 2 Simpsons minifigures is 204-00-1379 if you have trouble finding them when they are officially released in May. Thanks to Multigasmgeek for the DPCI number.
While you’re there, why not go see if the LEGO City Go-Kart Racer (30314) is available there as well as there have been reports that the polybag has started to show up. The DPCI number for the polybag is 204-00-0291.

Various tidbids of The LEGO Movie 2 have been coming out slowly but we now have some big information on some of the characters that will be in it. In an interview with Zap2It, Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed that Emmet will be returning to the sequel along with Wyldstyle which will take place four years after the events of the first movie.
“It picks up where the other one left off,” Lord said. Miller also added, “Emmet and Wyldstyle will be back, and others and there will be new characters as well.”
Given those statements, there’s no mentioning whether Chris Pratt or Elizabeth Banks will be returning to voice The LEGO Movie 2. Hopefully they will be able to return to give the storyline some sort of continuity as we’ve grown to know and love the voices of Emmet and Wyldstyle.
The LEGO Movie 2 will be directed by Rob Schrab with Lord and Miller producing and will be released sometime in 2018.
The Brickset Forums is reporting that the LEGO City Go-Kart Racer (30314) polybag have started to show up at Target stores. They can be found at the checkout aisles for $4.59 each. If you’ve been searching for the Go-Kart, now may be the time to check out your stores. If you do find it, let us know the DPCI number and we can let other readers know if they have shown up at their Target stores using this handy tool.
On another note, I’ve heard/seen various reports that the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Electro (5002125) polybag will be a Toys R Us promotion pretty soon so stay tuned for that.
