LEGO Building Instruction Generator Program for LDD

If you’re an avid user of the LEGO Digital Designer (LDD), you would know that the program lacks a proper building instruction feature. This is where Eurobricks member msx80 comes in. They have posted a LEGO building instruction generator program called Blueprint which takes your LXF file and generates building steps while using the LDD group definitions. There you can adjust the steps by moving them around, adding more steps, and more. After you’re satisfied with the instructions, you can generate and save the pages as image files.

Blueprint is still in beta but it works fairly well. With that being said, there are still some limitations with the program such as no undo button and some multipart pieces may not work as intended. You can read more of the limitations in the link thread above.

Requirements for using Blueprint include having Java 8 with revision 8u40 or better, Opengl 3.2 or higher, and LDD. This may sound sophisticated but if you have the latest drivers and updates for your system, you should probably already have everything that’s need to run the program. When you click the link above to download it, your anti-virus program may block it but I tested it and it works fine.

Brick Fest Live/Philly Brick Fest 2015 Happening This Weekend

Brick Fest Live/Philly Brick Fest 2015 is happening is weekend and for the second year in a row, I’ll be heading out there to attend the event. There will be tons of MOCs on display from various local LUGs such as PennLUG as well as a number of vendors like The Brick Show, eclipseGRAFX, and Brick Warriors just to name a few. There’s still time to get tickets if you want to attend the public days on Saturday and Sunday.

I look forward to hanging out with friends of the site from the east coast again and meeting new people. If you’re heading out there this weekend, come by and say hello. I’ll be around doing coverage throughout the whole event and be posting on our Facebook Page so make sure you like to page to get the notifications.

LEGO Star Wars Mini Wookiee Gunship Toys R Us Building Event on May the 4th Weekend

Friends of the site Kelly, aka Kelyn39, along with her sons informed us of an upcoming Toys R Us LEGO building event that will be held on May the 4th weekend on Sunday May 3 from 12-2pm. For this event, kids will be able to build a mini LEGO Star Wars Wookiee Gunship. The build has a similar shape to the 75084icon set but at a smaller scale.

This will most likely be a very popular event and inventory will probably run out very quick. I do highly suggest that you get there at least a hour early to get in line as these type of Toys R Us building events can get really busy. Thanks again to Kelly, Ian, and Declan for tagging me and letting me know about it.

Official Release Dates Announced for Upcoming LEGO Movies

Mark your calendars! Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. has given the release dates of three of the upcoming LEGO movies in the next few years. The LEGO Batman spinoff movie will be released on February 10, 2017 and the LEGO Ninjago spinoff movie will move from 2016 to September 22, 2017. Finally, The LEGO Movie Sequel will be slated for May 18, 2018.

Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution notes, “We are very excited about dating our upcoming Lego animated features, which already have a worldwide fan following, built on the foundation of the first film. These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come.”

There’s still no new information about the Batman and Ninjago movies but there have been tidbids on The LEGO Movie Sequel. We know that it’ll take place four years after the first one and Emmet and Wyldstyle will be back along with more female characters. Below is the official press release:

LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009) Showing Up at Target But…

There have been reports that the LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009) has started to show up at various Target stores and being displayed on endcaps like the ones you see in the image above and on the shelves. Unfortunately, many of the stores have a strict release date of May 1st so they won’t even sell them even if they’re displayed on the floor which is such a tease. However you might get real lucky and find some stores that will sell them but that’s pretty rare. The Target DPCI for the Series 2 Simpsons minifigures is 204-00-1379 if you have trouble finding them when they are officially released in May. Thanks to Multigasmgeek for the DPCI number.

While you’re there, why not go see if the LEGO City Go-Kart Racer (30314) is available there as well as there have been reports that the polybag has started to show up. The DPCI number for the polybag is 204-00-0291.
