If you’ve ever visited BrickPicker before, you would know that you can get gauge the value of your LEGO sets by using their tools. Our friends Jeff and Ed have now started a new marketplace that you can use to sell your LEGO products. It’s called Brick Classifieds. It’s another avenue that you can use to sell your items besides on BrickLink, BrickOwl, eBay, or Amazon just to name a few. You may have probably seen their ad that’s been up on our sidebar for a few weeks now.

If you’ve ever bought or sold LEGO products before, you know that it could be a difficult process to deal with. Brick Classifieds tries to make that process a simpler one. It’s sort of a classified ad to sell your items. What makes a little unique is that some of the sellers are also BrickPicker members which has their own community of collectors and investors there. Member of the forums there are pretty cool and the mods run a pretty tight ship. You don’t have to be a member of BrickPicker to buy and/or sell items on Brick Classifieds but there are some valuable information that you can use such as set value. Also with every item listed, it’s required to have an actual photo of the item because stock photos are not allowed.

Buying off of Brick Classifieds is pretty straightforward and similar to other secondary markets like BrickLink and eBay. The buyer adds items to their cart and pays with Paypal. The items will … Continue

LEGO Jurassic World Teaser Trailer and Owen Minifigure Revealed

LEGO Jurassic World

Today WB Games released a teaser trailer for the upcoming LEGO Jurassic World video game. The video shows the iconic water cups from Jurassic Park with the T-Rex footstep rumble. The Rex then crushes the cups and does his very familiar roar and something hilarious ensues. You can now pre-order the game from GameStopicon and I’m pretty sure that they’ll be having an exclusive minifigure to go along with it.

To coincide with the teaser trailer, Chris Pratt has revealed an official image of his character in the movie, Owen. Pratt is on a roll with LEGO minifigures of his characters with Emmet from The LEGO Movie and Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Again, I did see the trailer and the minifigure this morning but wasn’t near a computer to report it. Thank you to everyone who emailed about it.

LEGO Announces LEGO Ideas Doctor Who and WALL-E Sets

LEGO Ideas Doctor Who

A few days ago, we reported that a Doctor Who project would indeed become a LEGO Ideas set and today LEGO has confirmed that rumor. The project by Andrew Clark, Doctor Who and Companions, will become LEGO Ideas set #12. It’s rumored that all 13 incarnations of the Doctor will be included in the set so I hope that’s true. For you Whovians, your request of an official LEGO set has been achieved. This also makes the second project from a TV show that will become a LEGO set with The Big Bang Theory being the first.

LEGO has also finished their review of the Second 2014 period and the WALL-E project by Angus MacLane will become the 11th set to be produced. Angus is an animator and director who actually worked on the film and he was done a great job creating the model. WALL-E was released in theaters back in 2008 and became a box office hit which earned it the Best Animated Feature Film at the 81st Academy Awards.

The design, pricing, and availability of both newly designated LEGO Ideas sets are still being work on and will be released later this year. Congratulations to both of the project creators. The third 2014 LEGO Review is already underway and we can expect the results late spring/early summer.

On a side note, I did see this news early this morning but I was not able to be at the computer. I appreciate everyone who emailed in about it.

LEGO Store February 2015 Monthly Mini Build Event Space Shuttle (40127) Review

LEGO February 2015 Monthly Mini Build

Today is the first Tuesday of the month and that means the LEGO Monthly Mini Build was held today. For February 2015, the build is a Space Shuttle (40127). This one was a pretty popular one because the line for it literally wrapped around the walkway. If you’ve been to Fashion Valley before, the line ended up at the entrance of Bloomingdale’s and eventually Forever 21.

The build itself consists of 39 pieces and it has a pretty cool look to it. The only thing that I didn’t like much about it is the bottom of the front of the shuttle. It kind of looks too blocky for my taste. However, the back of it has a nice look. Although it’s a fairly simple build, it has nice overall appearance to it.

Next month’s Monthly Mini Build will be a little Robot which you can check out on the March 2015 Store Calendar. As always, it was nice to see the regulars there and chatting it up with them.

Video of Super Bowl XLIX Commercials Recreated in LEGO

A few days ago, we reported that UK animation studio A+C Studios was going to recreate the commercials from Super Bowl XLIX into LEGO form in the Brick Bowl.

It took the studio 36 hours to recreate nine of the commercials that were shown on Sunday from the Jurassic World trailer to Snicker and Toyota. It’s not a total recreation of the commercials as I thought it would be but it’s still very cool with some humor thrown in as well.

This Friday, A+C Studios will be releasing “The Making of Brick Bowl” which will show the 36 hour progress of making the video.
