The LEGO Movie Now Available for Pre-Order on Amazon (Again)

The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome Edition

Amazon is now accepting pre-orders again for The LEGO Movie in anticipation of the movie being released on Blu-Ray/DVD tomorrow. There has been a dispute going on with Amazon and Warner Bros. for the past few week and they had stopped taking pre-orders late last month. The current price for the Everything is Awesome Edition on Amazon is $34.96 which is tied with Walmart for the lowest price for that version plus you get free shipping. Best Buy has it for $34.99 but you don’t get free shipping until you hit $50. Target has it for $37.99 with free shipping at $50 although you get free shipping if you’re a REDCard member. You can also save $10 when you purchase the Blu-Ray along with either of the following The LEGO Movie sets: Bad Cop’s Pursuit (70802), Ice Cream Machine (70804), or Trash Chomper (70805). Barnes & Noble is the highest at $41.99 but it can be cheaper if you have a coupon to use.

LEGO Minecraft Steve & Creeper Minifigures Revealed

LEGO Minecraft Minifigure Scale

There’s some interesting news coming out of Eurobricks today. Forum member TomKraut has posted a link to the German LEGO Catalog for the second half of the year. We’ve already seen everything in the catalog and all the sets have been released or will be releasing in the next few months but on page 92-93, there is an advertisement for the LEGO Minecraft minifigure scale sets. There are no sets pictured but we get to see what appears to be the final renditions of the Steve and Creeper minifigures. Steve looks like any other minifigure except that he has a block head and carries a new pickaxe. The creeper looks to be brick-built like with many of the mobs in this wave of Minecraft sets.

We’ve already done a couple of posts previewing a few of the LEGO Minecraft sets although the may be just prototypes. The minifigure scale sets are scheduled for release around October of this year. We’re still waiting for the official images of them and hopefully we’ll see them soon now that the catalog is available.

LEGO Creator Balloon Cart (40108) Polybag Review

LEGO Creator Balloon Cart (40108)

During the better part of June, LEGO Stores and Shop@Home will be giving out the LEGO Creator Balloon Cart (40108) polybag as part of the June 2014 gift with purchase promotion. The set consists of 66 pieces and it is free with purchases of $75 or more.

LEGO Creator Balloon Cart (40108)

Minifigures

There are two minifigures in this little polybag, the balloon vendor and a young boy. The vendor wears your old-style uniforms that you would have seen back in the day. He wears a red tie and a grey striped vest with a pocketwatch in one of the pockets. He only has a single-sided head with a happy expression and wears a red hat.

The boy has a red shirt on with dark blue sleeves The shirt has some sort of design on it. Not sure what it is but it’s interesting. He also has dark blue short legs. One nice thing that he has is the double-sided head. On one side, he is extremely happy to get a balloon. On the other opposite side, he is sad and is even shedding a tear, probably due to the fact that his balloon flew away or wasn’t given one.

Build

The first thing that you see after you finish building the balloon cart is that it is very colorful. There are four balloons in the set: orange, red, lime green, and medium azure. On one end of the cart, you got your red and orange helium tanks that are as large as the kid. In the middle, you have a … Continue

One More Week for LEGO Balloon Cart Polybag Promo

This is just a reminder that you only have about a week left to make your purchases at the LEGO Store or Shop@Home if you want to get your hands on the FREE promotional LEGO Creator Balloon Cart (40108) polybag. According to the June 2014 Store Calendar, it states you have until June 15th to get one with purchases of $75 or more. However on Shop@Home, it says the end of the promotional period is actually June 22nd or while supplies last (see below).

A reason for the date difference could be because the stores are being just cautious since some promotional polybags run out very quickly like the Martian Manhunter back in March. I would suggest calling the stores after tomorrow if you’re planning to head out to the store to ensure they still have some in stock to give away. Most stores will still continue passing them out even past the date stated on the calendar. If they are out, you still have at least a week before the promotional period ends to get your orders in.

The LEGO Movie Master Builder Toys R Us Event Recap

The LEGO Movie Toys R Us Master Builder Event

Today was The LEGO Movie Master Builder event at Toys R Us stores throughout the States but unfortunately I wasn’t able to go. My friend John was nice enough to send me some images of what the event consisted of. Like all other building events at Toys R Us, you basically go around the tables the staff has set up and you pick the number of pieces that is listed and put in your plastic bag. After you get all your pieces, you can either build your mechs there or you can just leave.

There are 62 pieces and you can pretty much build what you like. There is also an example sheet that you can follow to build MetalBeard inspired mechs but I think the point of the event is to build whatever you can come up with. There are a number of really good pieces including the new ball joints that are seen in the Mixels sets. There are also a couple of the 1×2 – 2×2 brackets that make for some good SNOT building. Other nice additions include the male and female minifigure heads. The female knot bun hair is a very rare piece because it only came in one other set from last year and that is from the LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship (75021) from Padme Amidala.

From what I’ve been hearing, it was a pretty cool event by Toys R Us and you get some free LEGO bricks from it. I wish I could’ve went but things happen and I … Continue
