The LEGO Movie Themed Community Window at Fashion Valley LEGO Store

Fashion Valley LEGO Store Community Window

The Community Window at my local LEGO Store in San Diego (Fashion Valley) has been changed out and the new model is The LEGO Movie themed. It was created by Tommy who is a fellow member of SandLUG. The build is actually an interactive model where he has placed 12 Emmet minifigures throughout the whole model. The store even has a cool little contest where they are giving away the remaining Benny posters they have to children who can find all 12 Emmets. If you’re in the area, stop by the store and check out Tommy’s model and see if you can find all 12 “hidden” Emmets. Technically, I found 14 mentions of him but who’s counting 😉

LEGO Lost World Zoo Exhibit by Bright Bricks

The folks over at Bright Bricks has been hard at work creating some animals for LEGO Lost World Zoo exhibit at the Milestones Living History Museum in Hampshire, UK. They have filled the exhibit with creations of animals from the past including dodo birds, dragonflies, a woolly mammoth, and the sabre-toothed tiger seen above. This masterpiece consists of around 120,000 LEGO bricks and is about 1.4m high and 2.4m long. Below is a timelapse video of the tiger being built by UK’s only LEGO Certified Professional. The exhibit runs until April 27th so if you’re in the area, drop by to check out the exhibit and all the creations Bright Bricks has done.

New LEGO Pirate Ship Coming in the Future?

Starting today, ReBrick will be having a contest to name a new LEGO Pirate ship. The contest will run until Sunday, April 13th and the winning name has the opportunity to be the name of a LEGO pirate ship as well as one of the new LEGO Pirate ship sets that is signed by the designer.

Does this mean that we will be getting a new LEGO Pirates theme with new ships in the future? From the looks of the contest, it seems that there may be one in the future especially with the “one of the new LEGO pirate ship sets” wording. What are your thoughts on this contest of naming a new ship and us potentially getting a new Pirate ship or even a fleet of them?

LEGO CUUSOO Doctor Who and Companions Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Doctor Who and Companions project by Andrew Clark has achieved 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO and becomes the latest set to reach the first review stage of the year. It also becomes the second Doctor Who project to reach the review stage ever since LEGO started allowing these projects to be submitted with the first project being GlenBricker’s version. This version features the TARDIS and it is able to open up to show the inside Console. It also includes a Dalek and proposes a few versions of the Doctor and Companions.

With this new Doctor Who project also reaching the required number of supporters, we can see that the fan base is definitely is there and fans of the TV series do want to see it as an official LEGO set. Whether or not either project will pass the review stage still remains to be seen. It now joins the LEGO Bird Project, the Modular Apple Store, the BTTF – Jules Verne Train, the previously mentioned Doctor Who project by GlenBricker, and The Big Bang Theory in the review stage with a month left until the deadline for any more projects joining the list. Congratulations to Andrew for this achievement. We’ll have the official comments as soon as they are available.

Congratulations on 10,000 supporters, AndrewClark2!
