LEGO WildStar Rocket House at PAX East 2014

PAX East 2014 is happening right now in Boston and if you’re lucky enough to attend, make sure to visit the WildStar booths there. Our good friend Mariann Asanuma from Model Building Secrets is there and she is showing off a build that she has created for Carbine Studios. Mariann was commissioned to create a 50,000 piece LEGO Rocket House designed straight from the game and it is currently displayed in the main lobby. After the show, it will be dontated to Child’s Play along with $10,000. There is also a smaller version of the Rocket House that will be given away to someone who pre-orders WildStar while at the convention. Check out the images of Mariann’s builds below. I’ll add more when they are available.

Upcoming LEGO Set Details: MINI Cooper, Santa’s Workshop, Carnival

There is some news coming out of Dutch retailer Speelgoedn1.nl of some new LEGO sets coming out later this year. The first set is the MINI Cooper MK VII (10242) which we teased about last year. Some details of the set is that it is green and white with racing stripes. The roof is removable and you can see a beige interior with details such as the gearbox and handbrake. The site also mentions that there are also fog lamps. The MINI Cooper is the third vehicle set that is not tied into a particular theme following the Volkswagen Beetle (10187) and the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van (10220). It is possible that the MINI Cooper will be available on May 15th as the early VIP exclusive set.

The next set that is mentioned to be released this year is Santa’s Workshop (10245). LEGO will be continuing the Seasonal theme again to add to your Winter Village. This set will have six minifigures: Santa, Mrs. Claus, and four elves.

The final set that is revealed is the Carnival set (10244) which will fit into the Modular theme. Some details of the set includes a glow in the dark feature and has a whopping 12 minifigures including a juggler on stilts, a man dizzy from the ride, two boys, two girls, and more.

LEGO One Piece Thousand Sunny MOC

If you’re into anime shows, then you probably recognize the featured picture above. A builder by the username xinleiming has created a LEGO MOC of the Thousand Sunny from the One Piece series which is one of my favorite mangas/anime. This is the current ship of the Straw Hat Pirates who are led by the protagonist of the series, Monkey D. Luffy. As you can see, the build implements many of the details from the original ship including the lion figurehead at the bow. The amount of details this MOC has is amazing and I wouldn’t mind having one for myself. Check out more images of the Thousand Sunny here.

New The LEGO Movie Themed T-Shirts Now Available at TeeFury

The cool The LEGO Movie themed t-shirts that we previewed a few days ago are now available on TeeFury.com. LEGO DUPLO Super Heroes Official Images

There are some new images of the LEGO DUPLO Super Heroes sets that are to be released this summer. The Super Heroes sub-theme is new to DUPLO and introduces younger children who are new to LEGO to various super heroes and villains in the DC Comics Universe. Check out the images and set descriptions below.

Superman Rescue (10543)

Fly to the rescue and save the day with Superman! Help him stop the car from crashing into the water hydrant, then head back to work at the Daily Planet office. LEGO The Hobbit Video Game Promo Artwork

LEGO has released some new artwork for the LEGO The Hobbit Video Game which is now available on all major consoles. These images prominently shows off Smaug who plays a pivitol part in the Hobbit Trilogy. As mentioned in our report from the 2014 London Toy Fair, Smaug will have a similar size to the dragon in the LEGO Castle Dragon Mountain (70403) set. LEGO Pick-A-Brick Wall Changes

If you have been to a LEGO Brand Store recently, you might have seen some new changes to the Pick-A-Brick wall. For people who frequent the wall, you may have noticed that the price per cup has been raised $1.00 from its previous price. The smaller cups are now $8.99 each and the larger ones are $15.99. Another change is that the wall will have certain brick elements that are the same for every Brand Store and will be rotated simutaneously throughout the year. These elements will give kids some inspiration of what they can build and the labels suggest what they could go well with such as LEGO City or Star Wars.

For people who buy in bulk of the elements at the store, the prices for the cases has also gone up from the usual $75 to $100 price tag now. Even with the price increase, the cases are still a pretty good value if you need a lot of a certain element. How do you guys feel about these changes to the PAB Wall?
