Could LEGO Ninjago Movie Hit Theaters Before The LEGO Movie Sequel?

Last year, we reported that a LEGO Ninjago movie by Warner Bros. will be heading to movie theaters. A few weeks ago, we also reported that the studio has already started working on a script for The LEGO Movie sequel. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the Warner Bros. will soon decide whether to do go ahead and do a sequel for The LEGO Movie as well as the Ninjago movie at the same time and if they do, they have to decide which one will come to theaters first. Dan Lin and Roy Lee, who helped produced The LEGO Movie, will join directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller as the producers for Ninjago. Charlie Bean who directed Tron: Uprising on Disney XD will direct the Ninjago movie. Dan and Kevin Hageman, who wrote Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu for Cartoon Network, will also be involved in the new movie.

Warner Bros. has rights to only one sequel for The LEGO Movie so The LEGO Group could go to another studio if they wanted to. By adding another film from the LEGO Universe, this will help establish a stronger bond between the companies.

There are no details at this time of what the LEGO Ninjago movie will consist of but we can expect the same type of action/adventure style that the cartoon series has plus throw in the humor that the show provides. Although Ninjago is a theme focused mainly to younger males, Dan and Kevin note that 30% of Cartoon Network’s audience is female so there … Continue

LEGO The Hobbit Legolas Greenleaf Polybag Included with Blu-Ray Combo

The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug - LEGO Legolas Polybag

The One Ring has revealed the box art for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug home video release. The Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Combo Pack of the movie will also include the LEGO Legolas Greenleaf (30215) polybag. There’s no mentioning of which retailer will have this box set with the polybag included but signs point to Target. Last year, Target sold the same combo pack of An Unexpected Journey with a Bilbo Baggins minifigure so it seems likely that they will do the same thing for the second part of the trilogy.

LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Sets First Look

Iamste on Eurobricks has posted an image of the LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie sets from the 2014 American International Toy Fair. Someone has seemed to snuck a quick photo in even though the sign clearly states no photography for these particular sets. The sets are the Turtle Van Takedown (79115) – 368 pcs/$39.99, Big Rig Snow Gateway (79116) – 741 pcs/$69.99, and the Turtle Lair Invasion (79117) – 888 pcs/$99.99. There’s still no details on what the sets are about but at least you can get an overview from the image. You can also somewhat see the Turtles themselves in the foreground with their darker skin color. What are your guys’ first impressions of these sets?

LEGO Green Lantern Minifigure Coming Soon?

Untitled

There’s been much talk over the interwebs over the past day of one of the pictures our good friend Joe Meno, editor of BrickJournal, took while attending the 2014 American International Toy Fair. This picture is of a Green Lantern LED Lites and is speculation that a minifigure version of him may be coming out in a future set or polybag. This version of the highly sought character is the same as in the LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes Video Game and is different from the one that was given away at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con

There have been rumors that we would probably see a Green Lantern this year but nothing legitimate has come out as of this time. On another note about the LED Lites, all of the other characters that are shown in the image all have minifigure equivalents now that the Flash is out so that might add to the speculation.

LEGO Legends of Chima Gorilla Legend Beast (70125) Review

This is another guest post by our new reviewer, Dave. Follow him at deviantART and on Flickr to see more of his work.

When I went to Toys R Us to get my LEGO Legends of Chima Legend Beast sets, I knew I could only afford two at the time. I knew I was getting the Lion regardless, so it was a toss up between this guy and the Wolf. I ultimately chose the Gorilla Legend Beast (70125) because I felt his brown parts would supplement those from the Lion well.

LEGO Legends of Chima Lion Legend Beast (70123) Review

Hello Readers Of The Brick Fan. My name is Dave, I’m an AFOL from Central California. I am writing a review as a guest on Allen’s news and review website. Firstly I’d like to give a big thanks to Allen for allowing me to contribute set reviews to his blog and allow me to get a little more exposure. Now a little more about myself. I’ve been playing with regular LEGO ever since the Age of 2, and I’m 25 now. I primarily focus on MOCing in the less popular “Constraction” style of LEGO (i.e Bionicle, Hero Factory, and other figure building lines). My MOCs can be found on deviantART or Flickr. As a Reviewer, I look at sets primarily as a MOCer and from the standpoint of how a set can be utilized for its parts as well as trying to appreciate the build of the set. I like to use a basic “Pros Vs. Cons” style of reviewing. However, for the sake of writing here on Allen’s blog I will also be using his scoring system. Thank you for reading my reviews and I hope you find them helpful.

LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler (75059) To Be Revealed at Brick Cascade?

Hoth Bricks is reporting that the new LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler (75059) will be officially revealed in March at Brick Cascade 2014 in Portland, OR. Early reports of the new Sandcrawler is that it will go for $349.99 and will be a larger, regular set much like the Ewok Village (10236) from last year. Hoth Bricks is also reporting that an exclusive Slave I, possibly with an Ultimate Collector’s Series label, will be revealed sometime in September. There are no other details for the two sets but at least we get to know a timeframe of when they will be officially revealed by LEGO, if these rumors are true.
