LEGO CUUSOO Knight Rider K.I.T.T. by Orion Pax

If you’re a fan of LEGO MOCs, then you’ve probably heard of Orion Pax, otherwise known as Alex Jones. We’ve featured some his work on our site including the Masters of the Universe, the Transformers G1 Optimus Prime, and the Ghostbusters Headquarters, just to name a few.

We can now report that Alex has gone CUUSOO, not cuckoo, CUUSOO as in his very first project on the site. He has submitted his model of K.I.T.T. from the Knight Rider series in hopes of getting the required 10,000 supporters needed for review. We also featured K.I.T.T. before but this time you can vote on it on CUUSOO and it could have the potential to become an official set. With all the 1980’s cars becoming real sets like the Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine (21103) and the upcoming Ghostbusters ECTO-1, Alex hopes that his model can join the lineup. Alex’s version of K.I.T.T. is 7 studs wide and also includes a 2×3 red light brick to simulate the Anamorphic Equalizer of the Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am. If you like what you see, give the Knight Rider K.I.T.T. project a vote.

LEGO Responds to Girl’s Letter Asking For More Female Minifigures

Earlier this week, we reported that a young girl wrote a letter to The LEGO Group asking for more female minifigures to go adventures. LEGO has responded to that letter with pretty much what I wrote in my editorial. I stated that kids should starting making their own adventures with the vast variety of female minifigures already available to them. So to Charlotte and people supporting her, stop trying to push your political agenda to a company that has already been making huge strides the past few years to cater to both genders. Hopefully, this will be the last time I’ll be talking about this subject matter. Take a look at LEGO’s response below:

We are grateful that we have a product that so many children around the world engage with. Each year hundreds of thousands of children all over the world reach out to us after playing with our products, and give us positive feedback and suggestions for ways to improve. We reply to all consumers who reach out to us, and this answer is between us and the consumer unless the consumer decides to share our response of course.

We believe that LEGO® play appeals to children of both genders and all ages. Building with LEGO bricks fosters the creativity of children which is why it’s our mission to offer any child – regardless of their age, gender or interests – a relevant LEGO play experience.

LEGO play has often been more appealing to boys, but we have been very focused on including more

LEGO Store February 2014 Mini Monthly Build Event & 40095 Review

Sneak peek at February's Monthly Mini Model Build, The LEGO Movie Micro Manager

Today was the February 2014 Mini Monthly Build event at LEGO Stores. To celebrate the premiere of The LEGO Movie this weekend, this month’s build is one of Lord Business’ Micro Managers (40095). The event itself had one of the biggest turnouts ever for a Monthly Mini Build. If you’ve been to the store here at Fashion Valley in San Diego, you’ll know where Bloomingdale’s is. The line at the start of the event was already to the entrance of Bloomingdale’s which is crazy. Like other Monthly Builds, there was a limited number available for kids to take home.

The staff at the store were very cool as usual and I also got to meet some fellow readers of the site which was pretty awesome in itself. At the end of the building event, there were still a number of kids still outside waiting for their turn to come in and build. The staff had to call an audible and got everything bagged up ready for the kids when they came in and from what I saw, the execution was flawless. Although the final kids weren’t able to build it in the store, they were still given one to take home. Despite the unexpected huge turnout, it was another successful Monthly Build. It was estimated that around 50% of the people who showed up were new families to the Monthly Build event. Check out some images that were taken at the event below.

The LEGO Movie Glue Escape Racing Game

There is a new game for The LEGO Movie on Cartoon Network’s website called Glue Escape. It’s like car chase game where you have to battle Bad Cop and you have to hit his Police Car three times to win. There is also another objective where you have to save either Wyldstyle or Batman within the three rounds given. There are power-ups that you can use to help you defeat Bad Cop. There are two stages to choose from: The Wild West or Legopolis. You first have to start with Emmet’s Car and after you win the first bout with Bad Cop, you will unlock the Plumbing Truck. After you win on the other stage, you can unlock the Garbage Truck to use. There is also an option for you to use your SigFig that you’ve created in the game as well. Although the options are limited, the game is still entertaining.

BrickSlopes 2014 in the Works

I’ve been recently contacted by Steve Poulsen to talk about a new LEGO convention called BrickSlopes which will be happening in a few months. This convention is started by Steve along with Cody Ottley and are members of UtahLUG. They have been in the Utah LEGO community for a while and decided it was time to start a LEGO convention in their area. BrickSlopes is an event created for everyone around the world but especially for individuals who are in the Intermountain West and Pacific coast since there aren’t that many LEGO conventions in that geographical area.

Like with many other LEGO events, there will be public showings where you can see many cool LEGO creations from awesome builders. Also, LEGOLAND California’s Master Model Builder, Gary McIntire, will be the keynote speaker at the convention. The event will be happening May 1-4 with the public showings on the 2nd & 3rd at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah. Check out Steve and Cody’s interview on Beyond the Brick from last year where they go in-depth more about BrickSlopes. Also, follow their Facebook Page for updates about the event.

LEGO Legends of Chima and Ultra Agents Set Features at Nuremberg Toy Fair

Atamaii.tv Toy Reporter is back with a few new videos coming from the 2014 Nuremberg Toy Fair. The first video shows some of the play features of the LEGO Legends of Chima Flying Phoenix Fire Temple (70146). It shows the new Phoenix tribe going up against the also newly introduced Sabretooth tribe. The other Chima set that was shown was Maula’s Ice Mammoth Stomper (70145). The Mammoths are also a new villanous tribe that plans to steal the CHI. Check out some images of the Legends of Chima summer sets here.

In Atamaii’s other video, the LEGO presenters show off the new LEGO Ultra Agents sets including the Ultra Agents Mission HQ (71065). The set contains a semi with a trailer but hidden inside are the Ultra Agents’ secret headquarters. It is filled with a control panel, a small lab, a speedboat, a quad, and a prison.

The other Ultra Agents set displayed was the Hurricane Heist (71064). The set is a mech-type set which can transform into a helicopter. This set also has a sleek Tron-looking bike with a female agent riding it.
