More LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007) Series 12 Minifigures Revealed

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 12

A reader and fan of the site has informed us that the new July/August 2014 LEGO Club Magazine has images of three more characters from the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007) series. We can clear images of the Piggy Guy, Spooky Girl, and the Prospector in the foreground. It looks like the Piggy Guy will have an apple as an accessory. The Spooky Girl looks like she wears a skirt piece and has a black teddy bear. The Prospector has a pickaxe and has a cool looking hat.

We’ve already seen five minifigures from Series 12 last month which included the Space Miner, Wizard, Dino Tracker, Battle Goddess, Swashbuckler, and Video Game Guy.

As we reported before, the Series 12 minifigures will be available in October and they will go for $3.99 each. Thank you to Keith for the heads up on this very cool news piece.

LEGO City Arctic Scout Polybag (30310)

Good ol’ Toys R Us is keeping them coming with 2014 LEGO polybags. The next one that we found that will soon be hitting stores is the LEGO City Arctic Scout (30310). They’ve currently listed available in stores (YMMY) for $4.99 each but they’ll soon be available online sometime in the near future as well. The polybag consists of 39 pieces and is a nice supplemental set for the recently released LEGO City Arctic line. Thanks to Kevin for the inquiry and making me do some research for the Arctic Scout polybag.

Reminder: July 2014 LEGO Store Promotions and Events

LEGO July 2014 Store Calendar

July is just around the corner and that means new promotions will be at LEGO Brand stores as well as on Shop@Home. As we mentioned before, July will be a mostly LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed month filled with events and giveaways to promote the line as well new Michael Bay movie that will be released in August.

First is the Free exclusive Flashback Shredder Minifigure (5002127) with purchases of $75 or more. This minifigure will be offered from July 1-20 or while supplies last. The Flashback Shredder is just Oroku Saki in a Foot Clan outfit with his signature claws.

For LEGO VIP members during the month of July, you will be able to get a bonus 50 VIP points for purchasing the Turtle Sub Undersea Chase (79121).

On July 1, the Free Monthly Mini Model is a cool little Old School Surf Van (40100). Families will be lining up early for a chance to build one and take home so get there early because I suspect that this month’s build will be a very popular one.

On the calendar, it shows an image of the Mutation Chamber Unleashed (79119) set and stating that new LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets will be available on July 6. These wave of sets have been available for a while now and I believe they are actually referring to the Ninja Turtles movie sets being released since they have already started to show up at Toys R Us stores.

From July 7-20, show off your … Continue

The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome Edition Review

It’s been a few days since The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome Edition was released and I finally have some time to watch everything the package has to offer. This edition comes in a nicely packaged plastic box and it has a number of items including the Blu-Ray, the 3D Blu-Ray, the regular DVD, the Digital HD UltraViolet copy, the exclusive Vitruvius minifigure, and a collectible 3D Emmet photograph. It currently retails for $34.96 on Amazon.

Blu-Ray

The Blu-Ray runs at a full 1080p HD at a 16:9 widscreen ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. You pretty much get best of what technology has to offer today. The visuals and sounds are very crisp and it’s what you would expect.

The 3D Blu-Ray was even better than the regular version and it was very similar to what I saw in theaters. The visuals of this version were extremely pleasing to the eyes.

LEGO The Simpsons Springfield by Pepa Quin

Springfield, Brickworld 2014.

Earlier this year, we featured Matt De Lanoy (Pepa Quin) on the site before with his LEGO The Simpsons build of The Android’s Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop as his Iron Builder model. Matt’s been hard at work following that in preparation for Brickworld Chicago 2014 and there, he unveiled the town of Springfield completely in LEGO. His layout included many well-known locations from The Simpsons TV show including Krusty Burger, the Kwik-E-Mart, Moe’s Tavern, and the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. I’ve only shown a few of the builds below but head over to Matt’s Flickr album to see all of his buildings of Springfield.

LEGO Fusion Minisite Now Live

LEGO Fusion

The next big thing that LEGO has been working on is LEGO Fusion which was first announced last week. The idea of it is to combine traditional building with a virtual experience. I’ve recently found out that LEGO has also released a minisite for the new theme. LEGO Fusion will be available this August and September for $34.99 each at LEGO Brand Stores and Toy R Us as well as online on the respective sites.

On the page, you can see all four sets that will be included in the initial wave of LEGO Fusion: Town Master (21204), Battle Towers (21205), Create & Race (21206), and Resort Designer (21208). There are also videos for each of the sets demonstrating some examples of the builds as well as how the build is transferred to the virtual world and the different gameplay you can enjoy.

Town Master (21204)

In this simulation game, players create and rule their own LEGO town, first by building it with LEGO bricks, then by capturing it and importing it to the game. Children build everything from houses to a pizzeria, fire station and bike shop while completing errands and missions like catching robbers, fighting fires and skateboarding. To keep the minifigure citizens happy, players solve problems through physical building and earn points to gain access to more structures, and even run additional towns.

Battle Towers (21205)

Players build a tower and defend it against attack so they can rule the kingdom. First, players design the Battle Towers with real LEGO pieces, then capture
