The LEGO Movie Super Secret Police Enforcer Polybag Found at Toys R Us

The LEGO Movie Super Secret Police Enforcer (30282)

It now looks like how we will be able to get one of the new The LEGO Movie polybags that we’ve reported a few weeks ago. Toys R Us has listed the Super Secret Police Enforcer Polybag (30282) on their website for $4.99 each. They are currently not available to purchase online just yet but they do have it checked for being sold in stores. Like we’ve mentioned before, call your store and check if they are indeed available in stores before you go there. There’s still no word yet at this time on how the Micro Manager Battle (30281) will be distributed. Thanks to Clutch from Bricks on the Dollar for the heads up.

Fly into the fray with the Super Secret Police Enforcer with red and blue lights and control levers plus a cool blaster weapon.

LEGO 2014 Star Wars and Super Heroes Sets on Toys R Us Website

The new 2014 LEGO Star Wars and the Super Heroes sets are now listed on the Toys R Us website. They aren’t available online but they do have a check mark next to “Sold in stores” so this may suggest all the new sets may be hitting store shevles soon. We’ve reported earlier that the Star Wars sets were pushed back until March so LEGO could put their focus on The LEGO Movie sets. The Super Heroes sets were estimated to be released around March/April as well. We all know that Toys R Us sometimes releases new sets early so you may find some in stores sooner than you may think. Call up your local stores to see if they actually have them before you head out.

Cutaway Style LEGO Sydney Opera House at Brickvention 2014

LEGO Sydney Opera House

Currently, there are two official LEGO Sydney Opera House sets, the Architecture set (21012) as well as the Creator set (10234). There is also another model that has been created but it won’t be sold because this is a model of the iconic building created by LEGO Master Model Builders Ryan McNaught and Erik Varszegi. They have created a 75,000 piece cutaway style of the Sydney Opera House and was displayed at Brickvention 2014. This particular model costs about $25,000 and took aroud 300 hours to complete in a period of 38 working days. Ryan had to digitally design the Opera House first because Erik worked out of company headquarters in Enfield, Connecticut. After his section was completed, it had to be carefully transported to Australia.

In the cutaway section, you can see all the intricate details of the building including the stage, the auditorium, as well as the dressing rooms. This piece of work is absolutely incredible and the estimated 20,000 lucky attendees of Brickvention got to take a closeup look at it. Ryan notes, “I’ve always wanted to do the Opera House and it’s been my personal Mount Everest of Lego, it’s been bugging me for years and years because it’s such a difficult shape.” The Sydney Opera House will most likely be used in future promotional tours as well as museum exhibitions. Check out more images of the model below or head over to Ryan’s Flickr to see larger images.

LEGO The Simpsons House (71006) Time Lapse Build

LEGO The Simpsons House (71006)

Yesterday, the LEGO The Simpsons House (71006) became available for LEGO VIP members at brand stores as well as on Shop@Home. A fellow reader by the name of Marcel sent me a a time lapse video of him building the house. Since I don’t have the set yet, it’s cool to see how everything came together. I’ll eventually do a review on the set when I get my hands on it but for now, I’ll just watch it being built. Check out the video below. Unfortunately, Marcel is speaking German so I’m not sure what was said at the beginning of the video.

Update: Marcel has emailed me clarifying that he was just explaining you can now buy the set in LEGO Stores as VIP members, how much the set costs, and how many pieces are in the set.

The Brick Fan Turn 2 Years Old

Today marks the second year that The Brick Fan has been online. What started out two years as a just a simple hobby has turned into a somewhat of a part-time job for me. Last year, I made a goal to double the traffic that the site had and that was accomplished, more than what I expected. I’m not going to post any stats because they are similar to the ones in last year’s recap and I don’t want to repeat what’s been said already.

First and foremost, thank you to all the readers. This may sound cliche but without you guys, this site would be absolutely nothing. I never imagined that a tiny site like this would have such a following. It may be a small following but I appreciate everyone just taking a little bit of your time and reading what I have put out. All of your positive comments and feedback are what motivates me to keep this site going. I don’t have any plans to stop so let’s see how long we can keep this going.

I also want to thank all the people in the LEGO community that I’ve met or been in contact with last year. I’ve made a lot of new friends and acquaintances and hope to connect with more people this year. To the staff at the Fashion Valley LEGO Store, thanks for letting me hang out there with you guys during my downtime. It’s been cool interacting with everyone there and seeing how the store is … Continue
