Last month, we reported that EB Games Australia was taking pre-orders for The LEGO Movie video game. As a bonus, they were also including an exclusive Western Emmet minifigure with the game. Gamestop has recently updated their site to also include the Emmet minifigure with their pre-orders. The game will be available February 7th on all major game systems.
There are some big things happening at LEGOLAND California Resort at the end of January and into February. An anonymous reader has sent me some unannounced information on what will be going on at the park. Since The LEGO Movie will be released the first week of February, the staff at LEGOLAND has been working hard to get the park ready for its premiere next month.
First, the park will have a big event at the end of this month to promote the movie and will have several of the cast members attending as VIP guests including Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Channing Tatum, and more. They are also rumored to be back again for the premiere.
Secondly, the Playtown Theater is currently under renovations and will be changed to become a walkthrough attraction that will feature special figures, models, and more from The LEGO Movie.
The LEGOLAND California Hotel has been booked by Warner Brothers for executives and their families for them to stay and enjoy the festivities at the park.
Finally, the LEGOLAND Wardrobe department has constructed a costume character of Emmet and he will be making appearances at the park and taking pictures with visitors following the movie’s release and maybe even before then.
There are no dates at this time but we’ll be getting more information in the near future and we’ll be updating as soon as we get them. It looks like a very exciting time at LEGOLAND California and I look forward to visiting in the near future!

I just got an email from LEGO telling me what’s going this month at my local LEGO Store and in the middle of the email is an ad for a special television event Wednesday, January 29th 7/6c for LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu on Cartoon Network. The image shows a battle-damaged Zane in his Techno Robe holding his Shuriken.
This event marks the return of Ninjago on TV and is the series’ third season. This time, the ninjas will not only go up against the Digital Overlord but they have to face off against his army of Nindroids as well. Check out a sneak peek of the new Ninjago series below.

The LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes The Batman Tumbler Polybag (30300) have started to show up in stores and been spotted at the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in the Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre in Toronto for $5 each. Ok this is something I wouldn’t normally post but Woot! somehow has gotten their hands on the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon (10179) and is selling them for $2,199.99. This deal is at least a few hundred dollars less than it is listed for on eBay or Amazon. So if you have some extra cash laying around from Christmas or from your birthday, now’s your best chance to pick up what many collectors consider as the Holy Grail of Star Wars UCS sets at a fairly decent price. This deal will expire in 2 days (as of this post) or until they are sold out.

Bkctsang on Eurobricks has reported that the Hong Kong Toys R Us is having a promotion for the first 150 customers who spend more than HK$1200. Those lucky customers will be randomly given a LEGO Star Wars polybag which includes a choice from the Chrome Darth Vader, the White Boba Fett, and a new TC-4 minifigure. The TC-4 is a very obscure character in the Star Wars universe who was owned by Senator Palpatine. It was only mentioned in books and was even cut from Episode I. We’ll see in a few months if the TC-4 polybag is this year’s May the Fourth LEGO promotion or not.
