LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles Begins

Today, the LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles released their first episode on the Star Wars minisite. It begins by showing Yoda, Pong Krell, and Ahsoka Tano fighting off a Droid ambush. They are then saved by an AT-RT and the Z-95 Headhunter. At the end, it shows an Umbaran MHC arriving. Will it be a friend or a foe? The short video does not have any voicing as of yet but that might change in later episodes. So far it seems to be a promotion of the latest Star Wars sets more than anything. Let’s hope there’s more to The Yoda Chronicles than what we saw.

The Sun LEGO Promotion

Brick Fanatics is reporting that The Sun newspaper will be having a LEGO giveaway, mostly likely some of the polybags that have been reported. Brick Fanatic’s member, Adwil24, tweeted the first image of the promotion from The Sun a few days ago. Over on the Sun’s promotions page, it states to “Smile in the face of winter blues with The Sun’s Big Smile Giveaway. Family fun and amazing offers to keep us all smiling through ’til spring.” This probably means that there will soon be giveaways throughout winter until March when spring ends. More updates will be available as news comes.

LEGO CUUSOO Exo Suit Achieves 10000 Supporters

On March 28, 2012, Peter Reid posted his Exo Suit project on LEGO CUUSOO. Today, the project has achieved enough votes to be considered by the LEGO Jury to become an official LEGO set. The Exo Suit is Peter’s most popular MOC and has been featured on page 251 in The LEGO Book. It may have taken a while to get the supporters but it was well worth the wait. Now the project is now eligible to go to the Spring Review stage on March 4th. Congratulations to Peter for this amazing accomplishment!

The Andy/Bugdroid the Android by Google project by GLHTurbo now becomes the highest supported project on LEGO CUUSOO. Read the official LEGO statement below:

Congratulations on 10,000 Supporters, PeterReid!

2013.01.09

Again, beautiful model and well-deserved success! It’s great to see a model that carries the essence of classic LEGO Space forward to the “present day” of building qualify for review.

Congratulations on achieving 10,000 supporters. We now officially advance this project to the Review phase.

What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A “LEGO Review Board” composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We’ll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards.
