With all the hoopla surrounding The Hobbit poster the past few days, people were starting to get more excited about The Hobbit sets. Today, Complex.com has posted new set pictures of a few of the sets. Commence more drooling.

LEGO has released the designer video for the new LEGO DC Universe Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout (10937) on their Facebook page. As noted, there are references to the old Arkham Asylum (7785) set as well as from the comics and the TV series in the updated version. The set is to be released in January 2013 for $159.99.
As LEGO fans, we like to help out the community if we can. This past weekend, BrickCon 2012 was going on in Seattle. With some luck, I managed to receive some tickets to go to the event but something came up at the last moment and I couldn’t go. As a result, I was stuck with a pair of tickets that I couldn’t use. I had to find a way to make them not go to waste.
As a member of Chris Pirillo’s Gnomies community, I knew that he lives in Seattle so I reached out to him to see if he or someone he knew could use the tickets. Chris already had his tickets, but fortunately he knew someone who could use them. Oleg Moskalensky was the person that we thought would be the best choice. Oleg has a son who’s been though a lot the past few weeks and he thought BrickCon would be a great way to cheer him up. To Oleg’s surprise, he received the pair of tickets and today, Oleg and his son went to one of the biggest LEGO conventions in the West Coast. In the end, it certainly feels good to help someone put a smile on a child’s face. I hope to get out to my first BrickCon some day, but in my opinion, this was way better than me going this year.
Coming off the recent news about the LEGO Hobbit poster that appeared on Reddit yesterday, Just2good over on Eurobricks has also got his hands on the poster. He has posted close up images of the boxes as well as a video on the sets. Note that the only set that didn’t have a closeup of the box was the An Unexpected Gathering set although it was briefly mentioned in the video.
Sometimes_snarky on Reddit posted a picture of a poster for the new LEGO The Hobbit sets from Toys R Us. Not sure yet of how the user got a hold of it yet. More details as they come.
**Update 1:** According to the user, “I had found all the bags to an open Republic Frigate set (7964) they thought they had lost. I jokingly asked if I got a prize or something. She gave me the poster and an additional 10% off the open box price.”
What I’m thinking is that Toys R Us will be giving them away with a purchase in the near future promotion. I haven’t heard anything about that yet.

**Update 3:** I went to Toys R Us today to see if there was any information regarding the poster but the employees there didn’t seem to know about it. I looked behind the checkout counter to see if there was evidence of a giveaway but did not see anything to suggest that. Back at San Diego Comic Con 2012, LEGO displayed some minifigures of next year’s LEGO Super Heroes sets. Today, LEGO revealed the one of the first sets that will be coming out in January 2013, the LEGO DC Universe Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout (10937). At 1351 pieces, this will be the biggest LEGO Super Heroes set so far.
