LEGO BrickLink AFOL Designer Program Continuing Soon

A few days, LEGO Chief Marketing Officer Julia Goldin and Head of BrickLink Marvin Park gave an update on the future of BrickLink and what is in store for the future of the marketplace platform. Most of it goes to improving BrickLink XP and BrickLink Studio.

Lastly, Park revealed that they will soon be announcing the continuation of the BrickLink AFOL Designer Program. There was no details yet but it will be announced later this month. If you remember, the first round allowed AFOLs to design their own set and fans would vote on what they they would like to purchase and pre-order them. Those sets would be then be assembled by BrickLink and shipped out shortly after.

LEGO Shop Implements In-Stock Notification

With many products being out of stock in recent weeks, LEGO has rolled out a new in-stock notification on the LEGO Shop. On the product pages for items that labeled as temporarily out of stock, there’s a button that allows you to enter your email for LEGO to notify you when the item is avaialble again. This is good idea since we don’t really know when stuff goes back online again.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 21 (71029) Packaging

LEGO has uploaded the product page for the Series 21 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71029) to the LEGO Shop and we now get to see the packaging for the set. As you can see, the box has indeed shrunk down to 36 packs and is now only two rows of 18. The bags themselves are also slimmer than usual which seem to be part of LEGO’s sustainability effort of reduce waste. We also have the official names of the minifigures in this wave and they are:

• Centaur Warrior
• Shipwreck Survivor
• Pug Costume Guy
• Beekeeper
• Ladybug Girl
• Violin Kid
• Alien
• Space Police Guy
• Ancient Warrior
• Airplane Girl
• Cabaret Singer
• Paddle Surfer

The LEGO Series 21 Collectible Minifigures will be available starting on January 1 for $4.99 per pack.

LEGO Ideas Roman Warship Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Roman Warship by Iyan Ha is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. It is a historical set that features a Roman warship that is set on a display stand. It also proposes a small army of Roman soldiers as well as the Emperor, all from the LEGO Collectible Minifigures line.

The project now joins the Boeing 737 Passenger Plane, Colosseum (Architecture Style), Gravity Falls: The Mystery Shack, Brick Town Police Station, , Red Dwarf Starbug, Avatar: The Last Airbender – YIP YIP!, Classic Castle, Open MRI, Motorized Lighthouse, Avatar: The Illuminated World of Pandora, Spirited Away, Jumanji of 1995, Auto Union Type C Racecar, Automated Garbage Truck, The Car Wash, Wallace & Gromit, and Among Us: the Skeld as the ones that have reached the Third 2020 Review Stage.

LEGO Harry Potter The Monster Book of Monsters (30628) Available for Purchase at Barnes & Noble

The LEGO Harry Potter The Monster Book of Monsters (30628) is now available for purchase at Barnes & Noble. They are selling the 320 piece set by itself for $24.99. It was used as a gift with purchase item last month but it sold out very quickly. There is a purchasing limit of 1 but I assume the stock on this one will go pretty fast either way. There’s still no word if LEGO themselves will have it available on the LEGO Shop. I’ve heard that some LEGO Brand Stores had it but it wasn’t a wide distribution.
