The LEGO Group Announces Changes to Board of Directors

A few days ago, LEGO announced some changes to their Board of Directors with with one member stepping down and another joins. CEO of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd Kåre Schultz left the Board while Netflix Board of Director Anne Sweeney joins LEGO. These changes probably won’t affect us consumers directly but Sweeney did work for Disney, ABC, Nickelodeon, and Fox so she does have a great entertainment background which could help LEGO in that aspect.

The LEGO Group today announced two changes to its Board of Directors as Kåre Schultz, CEO Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd steps down and Anne Sweeney, a member of the Board of Directors at Netflix, joins with immediate effect.

Anne is also a member of the Board of Trustees at the Mayo Clinic, and a Deans Distinguished Fellow at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

Prior to embarking on a new chapter in the entertainment industry in 2015, Anne was Co-Chair, Disney Media Networks, and President, Disney/ABC Television Group, which includes The Walt Disney Company’s global entertainment and news television properties, owned television stations group, as well as radio and publishing businesses.

Anne has a BA degree from The College of New Rochelle and an Ed. M. degree from Harvard University.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Thomas Kirk Kristiansen, commented:

“LEGO A/S has developed tremendously since 2007 when Kåre Schultz first joined as a Member of the Board. I would like to thank Kåre for his dedicated contributions to this development over more than 12 years. Furthermore, I am pleased

Twenty Six Projects Qualify for LEGO Ideas First 2020 Review Stage

Well it looks like the LEGO Ideas First 2020 Review Stage is set as a whopping 26 projects qualify for a chance to become a LEGO Ideas set. Also the Earth Globe project also snuck in at the last minute so it’ll have to go up against the most number of projects ever that qualified in any stage. Now the hard part for LEGO is to decide which projects will become official LEGO Ideas sets and how many they decide to pass. If you remember from a few weeks ago, I did a post questioning if there should be some changes to LEGO Ideas considering that we’ve been getting more and more projects that qualify. Which one(s) do you think will pass?
