With the LEGO Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker sets coming out later this week, retailers are clearing out inventory of their current stock at deeply discounted prices. One of the more notable sets is the Ahch-To Island Training (75200) which is going for $17.48 or 42% off. This is the lowest price it has been priced at on Amazon and it price matches Walmart.
The October 2019 LEGO Store Calendar is now available and we can now see some of the promotions and events that will be happening during the month.
October 4-6: Free LEGO Star Wars Battle of Endor (40362) with Star Wars purchases of $75 or more, while supplies last.
October 5: Adult building event for LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker timeline microbuild. In-store registration is required and begins on October 1.
October 4-6: Dress up as your favorite Star Wars character to receive a special treat. For all ages on first come, first served basis.
October 4 – November 3: Red Squadron vs Blue Squadron. Decode hidden building instructions using special glasses to build your ship as fast as you can. No registration is required.
October 16: UFO Building Event. In-store registration is required and begins on October 3. For ages 6-14.
October 21: Minifigure Swap Monday
October 31: Stop by the LEGO Store in your Halloween costume for Trick or Treat.
LEGO has announced a new partnership with the hit BBC TV show Top Gear to produce a LEGO Technic Top Gear set that is set to be released in 2020. As you may remember, there was a rumor from many years ago that we could be getting Top Gear sets which ended up becoming the LEGO Speed Champions theme.
This new Technic set will be based on the BBC Two show starring Paddy McGuinness, Freddie Flintoff, and Chris Harris. BBC Studios Head of Licensing, Jason Easy, states, “It’s certainly a natural fit for both and we’re looking forward to seeing the LEGO Technic Set hit the shelves next year.”
There’s no word on whether we’ll get the three in minifigure form but considering that it’s a Technic set, it’ll probably just be a larger scale vehicle.

The LEGO Creator Gingerbread House (10267) is now available but why not pair it up with a previous Winter Village set that is currently on sale on Amazon. The Winter Holiday Train (10254) is currently priced at $87.99 which is 12% off but it is only a few cents off its lowest ever price. The Train was released in 2016 so it’s possible that it will be the next Winter Village set to be retired.
Yesterday, GameStop stores held a LEGO Overwatch Ganymede building event to promote the upcoming wave of sets. It was for the classic yellow version of the bird which is the exact same build as from the LEGO Overwatch Play Event from the beginning of the year with the only difference is with the colors. If you’re looking for the instructions for the GameStop Ganymede, a reader has sent in scans of the build. You can also download the PDF here if you want. Thank you to saneps for sending it in.
The new wave of LEGO Overwatch sets come out in a few days but I’ve gotten my hands on them just a bit early to see how they are. There are only two sets in this particular wave and the first one we’ll be checking out is Wrecking Ball (75976). It has 227 pieces and retails for $19.99. The contents of the box include two numbered bags, the instructions, and a small sticker sheet.
The LEGO Ninjago Movie Green Ninja Mech Dragon (70612) is a great set that is on sale over on Amazon. It is priced at $32.99 which is 34% off the normal price and is pretty close to the lowest price its been at on Amazon. I don’t build many Ninjago sets but this is one of the sets that I still have built and is sitting comfortably on my TV stand. Even if you’re not into Ninjago, there are a lot of awesome parts in sand green.
