LEGO Unikitty! Minifigure Series Confirmed for August

LEGO Unikitty!

It looks like the rumors of a LEGO Unikitty! Minifigure (41775) blind bags were indeed true. Zusammengebaut has reported that there will be a series of minifigures that will be for the Unikitty! animated show on Cartoon Network. This series would be coming in August and there will be twelve Unikitty minifigures to collect. I’m not sure if this means that there are twelve variants of Unikitty or twelve different characters from the Unikitty show. If it is the former, this series will be harder to feel for because Unikitty pretty much has the same body type and the only distinguishing features would be the accessories if she has any. The early rumor also stated that this series could also be a Mixels-type series so we’ll see if it just minifigures or the buildable type. Either way, I’m pretty excited to see what this series will consist of when the official images are released this summer.

LEGO Nexo Knights Coming to an End

LEGO Nexo Knights

The LEGO Nexo Knights theme was launched in 2016 as a futuristic castle adventure theme with bright, sharp colors. For two years, it has given fans an interesting assortment of sets and it looks like it will be ending with the latest wave of sets. Zusammengebaut at the 2018 Nuremberg Toy Fair has confirmed that there will be no summer sets planned for LEGO Nexo Knights and this usually means that the theme will be coming to a sad end.

Everything comes to end in one way or another, especially with original LEGO IPs which have about a two year lifespan, LEGO Ninjago being the main exception. To see this theme ending the way it is now is a little disappointing because there was no promotion for it. The official images didn’t come out until long after the other themes were out and the sets basically just showed up in stores. It had lots of potential but apparently it didn’t meet LEGO’s expectations as far as sales goes. It seemed somewhat popular with the younger audience and even the panel at SDCC a few years ago was packed with kids who wanted more of the Nexo Knights story.

With LEGO Nexo Knights ending, it looks like there won’t be another castle type theme for a few years because LEGO likes to rotate themes so what do you want to see take its place? I, for one, am looking forward to another sci-fi space type theme. What about you?

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) to be Redesigned

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038)

Last week, we got the official box art image of the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) set which was delayed in its release. That box art will no longer be used and there’s some new information from Promobricks at the 2018 Nuremberg Toy Fair that the set has now been pushed back to a fall release. This is because the set will be redesigned to remove the Mandalay Bay Hotel and replace it with another building due to the events that happened at the hotel last year.

What building would you like to see replace the Mandalay Bay Hotel in the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21308) set?
