LEGO DUPLO Summer 2019 Frozen Set Revealed

With The LEGO Movie 2, we saw the first movie tie-in DUPLO figures with Emmet and Lucy in the Emmet and Lucy’s Visitors from the DUPLO Planet (10895) set. This summer, we’ll see the next LEGO DUPLO movie set with Frozen which includes figures of Anna and Elsa along with Olaf. In the set, there’s a color changing switch which is the play feature of it.

Check out the rest of the coverage of some of the summer 2019 LEGO sets in our previous post where there are some good discussions going on with the readers.

LEGO Monthly Mini Build Events Rumored to be Ending in March

LEGO Monthly Mini Build 2019

If you’ve been enjoying doing the LEGO VIP Monthly Mini Builds, you only have a few months left to do them. I’ve heard from a few different sources that the last event will be in March. Even though LEGO has a list going for the 2019 builds, it seems that the page will not be filled up after March.

The LEGO Monthly Mini Builds have been going since 2009 and it was extremely popular at its peak a few years ago. It may seem that attendance has dropped ever since registration was required starting in 2016 and that could be a reason why LEGO will be ending it. Before the change, it was on a first come, first served system where families lined up in front of the stores and wait their turn. The registration helped ease the congestion at the malls but it also required parents to remember to sign their kids up on a certain day which is an extra step that some didn’t want to take.

Everything is loosely translated from German but we get an idea of what they are. I’ll update as more information comes in.

LEGO DUPLO Celebrates 50 Years

LEGO DUPLO 50th Anniversary

Today LEGO celebrates the 50th anniversary of the LEGO DUPLO line. A majority of you may have played with DUPLO while growing up and it’s an accomplishment that this theme has stood the test of time. LEGO has sent over a press release for the 50th anniversary of LEGO DUPLO has well as a couple of infographics about theme which you can check out below.

50 Years Young

Celebrating half a century of big building fun with LEGO®DUPLO®

BILLUND, January 29, 2019:Today we mark 50 years since theLEGO Group unveiled its inaugural large brick for small hands (yes that would be 1969) – the same year the first person set foot on the moon. You can decide which was the bigger moment for mankind (although could Apollo 11 be dismantled and rebuilt into a racing car?) but, either way, below are some highlightsfromhalf a century of big building fun.
