Licensing.biz has released their Power List for 2017 which is their list of the top 100 most influential brands in various categories. There was a couple of categories that The LEGO Group ranked in for this year. In the Character/Entertainment category, LEGO ranked second with their diverse character selection from all the themes that has been released.
In the overall Brand category, The LEGO Group ranked first as the top brand. This is their fifth consecutive year that LEGO has claimed the top spot for the Licensing.biz Power List. Some of the key things that helped LEGO take the crown as best Brand is the opening of their flagship store in Leicester Square, the British TV show LEGO Masters, as well as releasing the new UCS Millennium Falcon.
The new trailer for Marvel Studio’s Black Panther dropped earlier today there was a lot of cool new things that were shown off. It is rumored that there will be two LEGO sets coming out in conjunction with the movie next year as I reported back in July. What could LEGO pack in two sets that will have a big impact for fans or will it be something like the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 or Spider-Man: Homecoming sets from earlier this year?
One thing that we’ll most likely get is Black Panther in the new tech suit. I’m guessing that we’ll also see Erik Killmonger in the Golden Jaguar suit since he is one of the villains in the movie. As for the sets, one possibility is the ship that was seen at the beginning of the trailer because ships are a staple in movie tie-in sets. Another possibility is the chase scene at the end which also shows off Ulysses Klaue with a new arm.
What are you guys hoping to see in the LEGO Black Panther sets? Let us know in the comments below.
If you needed a reminder, the third week of the LEGO Bricktober 2017 promotion at Toys R Us has kicked off here in the US. For this week when you make a purchase of $50 or more in-store, you can get the LEGO City Jungle minifigures for free. If your store has any left, you can also now purchase The LEGO Batman Movie (5004939) set outright for $20.
This week’s promotion has already happened in other countries and will be happening in the UK in November. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of the LEGO City Bricktober set left over after this week as it is fairly weak compared to the LEGO Ninjago and TLBM ones.
Apparently the fidget spinner hype is still going on with LEGO. If you’re heading to a LEGOLAND Discover Center, there’s a promotion in the retail shop for an exclusive The LEGO Ninjago Movie Fidget Spinner. You can get the 23 piece set with a purchase of $35 or more at the LEGOLAND Discover Center retail shop, while supplies last.
Back in May when the popularity of fidget spinners was at its peak, LEGO released some building instructions for their own version of the toy. The LEGO Ninjago Movie fidget spinner has the same concept with some slight part changes but this one has some exclusive 2×2 tiles of Garmadon, Master Wu, Lloyd, Kai, and Nya.
NINJAGO® Fidget Spinner Promotion: Spend $50 in our LEGO® Store and you’ll get a limited edition NINJAGO® fidget spinner for FREE! Hurry, offer valid while supplies last, or until the Shark Army stops by and spoils the fun*.

Back at SDCC, we got a first look at the upcoming The LEGO Ninjago Movie garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! (70656) but we now have the official images of the set. Toys R Us Japan has uploaded the images to their product page in anticipation of the set be available later on.
garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! (70656) is a play on words for The LEGO Movie’s Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! (70816). This set will have 830 pieces and will retail for $79.99 at Toys R Us and at LEGO starting on December 1. You can also check out the other sets in the second wave of The LEGO Ninjago Movie here.
If you’ve been waiting for the building instructions for the New York Comic Con 2017 exclusive LEGO BrickHeadz Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite (41498), Lazer310 over on Reddit has graciously provided them in the Imgur albums in the comments. I took it a step further and made the images into PDFs for each of the characters which you can download below. Note that some of the parts are exclusive to this set so you will have to substitute the pieces with something else in your collection.

If you want your own set straight from NYCC, you can easily find them on eBay and the unsigned versions of set are trending to about $100 or less while the signed versions by Marcos Bessa are just around $120.
