Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has officially announced their next video game with LEGO DC Super Villains. As expected, you’ll be able to play as the DC villains unlike the previous LEGO DC games where you mainly play as the super heroes. The game comes out on October 16 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. There will also be a Deluxe Edition of the game which includes an exclusive Lex Luthor Superman minifigure. The Toys That Made Us LEGO Episode Review

The long-awaited LEGO episode for The Toys That Made Us finally released last week and I’ve finally had some time to watch it and give it a quick review. If you’re not familiar with the show itself, it’s an eight part documentary that talks about the history of various toy franchises and how they’ve impacted society. Some of the toy lines that have been featured so far included He-Man, Star Wars, Transformers, and of course, LEGO.

The episode is about 45 minutes and it condenses LEGO’s 80+ years of history into it. If you’re familiar with LEGO’s history, then there’s really not much that you don’t already know and if you’ve read Brick by Brick: How LEGO Rewrote the Rules of Innovation and Conquered the Global Toy Industry by David Robertson, who also makes an appearance, then you’re pretty much set. The episode, however, does tell the story of LEGO in an upbeat way with some humor thrown in here and there. Most of the significant events that helped shape LEGO into the company that it is now is in the episode which included talking about the system of play, the emergence of the LEGO minifigure, the failures such as Jack Stone and Galidor, the decline due to the Star Wars and Harry Potter licenses, and to the revival because of Technic, Mindstorms, Bionicle, and Ninjago.

Even though it covered a lot of topics, there wasn’t anything new introduced that knowledgeable fans didn’t know about already. Although Ninjago and The LEGO Movie were mentioned briefly, it … Continue

LEGO Brand Store (40305) Set Not a Promotional Set?

LEGO Brand Store (40305)

A few weeks ago, we got a look at the new LEGO Brand Store (40305) set and at first we thought it was going to be a part of an upcoming promotion but it looks like that won’t be the case. Zusammengebaut has reported that the set is actually being sold by itself at LEGOLAND Billund for 229.95 krones. We also get a look at the set stacked up and it looks like a decent sized set and is actually too big to be a promotional set. Hopefully we’ll get to see this set over here in the states in the next few months and I actually don’t mind it being a regular set.

Last week, LEGO released a teaser for the LEGO BrickHeadz Ghostbusters Peter Venkman & Slimer (41622) but today we now have the official images of the set via Promobricks. The set has 228 pieces and will probably retail for $19.99 like all other BrickHeadz two-packs. Fans have been wondering how Slimer will float like it does in the teaser image and we can confirm that there will be a trans-clear 2×2 brick to help out with the illusion.
