The Brick Fan Latest Updates

The Brick Fan Update

If you’ve been on the site recently, you may have noticed some slight but needed changes to the website. First of all, I’ve applied a new theme to the very outdated one I’ve been using since the site first started back in 2012. As a result, the website loads much more faster on the desktop but you still get a similar layout that I’ve had before. Also it is also updated for mobile users as it is also a responsive theme so now you can easily read it without having to zoom in on the articles.

Another change that I’ve made is the social media buttons which are now on on the top right hand corner. I’ve also added our subreddit on the list so you can join that and start some discussions if you like.

I’ve been wanting to make these changes for a while now but I haven’t had much time to do it plus I really don’t like changes but hopefully it’ll give a better user experience for the readers. If there are any bugs you encounter, let us know in the comments below. I’ll be keeping a watch on the site to see if I can find any issues but it should be fine for the most part.

LEGO The Legend of Zelda Planned for Nintendo Direct?

Okay this is a rumor post that I did not expect to see but it’s circling around the social medias so I might as well put it out there. The planned Nintendo Direct was supposed to happen a few days ago but it has been indefinitely delayed due to the earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan. Currently floating around the interwebs is a list of some of the planned announcements for the event which includes LEGO The Legend of Zelda. This is the first time I’ve heard this and the list didn’t specify if it is a new video game or LEGO sets based on the popular franchise.

If this rumor is true, it mark another video game that will be a LEGO-related theme, joining LEGO Overwatch and Minecraft, just to name a few. If you’re new to the LEGO scene, the Legend of Zelda franchise has been a popular on especially when it involves LEGO. You can see from all the fan MOCs as well as the four projects that have been proposed on LEGO CUUSOO and LEGO Ideas.

Again this LEGO The Legends of Zelda thing is still purely speculation at this moment. Until LEGO or Nintendo actually announces something, I would take it with a grain of salt. Try not to get your hopes up too much at this point in time.

[su_quote]Today we’ve released the latest batch of improvements to LEGO IDEAS based on our roadmap and extensive user testing that we conducted after the last update. With mixed emotions, the time has now come to close LEGO Rebrick and move future Contests to LEGO IDEAS. LEGO Rebrick launched as a contest platform in March 2016 and we have been continuously impressed with the innovation and ingenuity we see in every single entry. We are excited to be able to now offer these contests on LEGO IDEAS and continue to celebrate your creativity and inspire the builders of tomorrow. LEGO Rebrick will go offline September 14.

We’d like to celebrate LEGO Rebrick and everyone who entered contests there. So we’ve just awarded a new Rebricker badge to every registered LEGO IDEAS member who entered a LEGO Rebrick contest. Thanks again for sharing your creativity with us on LEGO Rebrick and we’re looking forward to your entries here on IDEAS.
