The LEGO The Incredibles Video Game was announced a short while ago and people have started wondering if there will be an exclusive minifigure that will come with the game. There was no reveal on the US side during the trailer or press release however over on the UK trailer, it was revealed at the end that Edna will be packaged with the game. I’m pretty sure that the US will get this too but no word yet on which retailer will get it. Hopefully, it’s Amazon as it makes it easier for everyone.
As I have reported the past few weeks, we will be getting the LEGO The Incredibles Video Game and today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has officially announced it along with a trailer. They have also provided us with some screenshots as well as the press release for it which you can check out below.
The LEGO Incredibles Video Game will be available on June 15 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). Stay tuned for more details of the game as we get closer to the release this summer.
Burbank, Calif. – March 28, 2018 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group, Disney and Pixar, today announced LEGO® The Incredibles, a new video game where players take control of their favorite Incredibles characters in unforgettable scenes and action sequences from both Disney•Pixar films, The Incredibles and the upcoming Incredibles 2. The game encourages players to work together by combining the Parr family’s abilities and unique powers to conquer crime and family life in a LEGO world full of fun and humor. LEGO The Incredibles will be available for Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and PC on June 15, 2018, the same day Incredibles 2 opens in theaters nationwide.
As you can see from image above, the set comes in a tropical hut design with the Banana Guy wearing some sandals while having a boombox as an accessory. There’s no word yet on the availability for the US at this time but it is already available at LEGOLAND Billund. I assume this set will be part of a promotion this summer as it fits the vibe of the set.
The I am Amelia Earhart project by Ellen Kooijman (Alatariel) and Brad Meltzer is the latest one to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project has 186 pieces and it is based on the children’s book of the same name with it featuring the famous pilot along with her yellow plane, Canary. With this project hitting 10k supporters, it is Alatariel’s fourth project to hit that mark. There was a slight scare for this project because it was down to its last 30 days of its final extension but there was a lot of support the last day or so to help it get over the hump.
The Modular Arcade by Astronaut Avila is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. As you can see, the project is a corner modular style which should be able to connect to existing modular buildings. The building has three floors, pizzaria, arcade, and apartment and each of them are filled with little details.
Warner Bros. has had a tight lip on the details of The LEGO Movie Sequel and there hasn’t been a lot of information about it since last September. It has come to light from The Hollywood Reporter that Tiffany Haddish has signed on to voice a brand new character in the franchise. She joins the returning cast of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Channing Tatum, and Jonah Hill with Mike Mitchell at the helm. There’s no mentioning on how Haddish will fit in to the sequel but it’ll be interesting to see how her character will be incorporated to the story.
The LEGO Movie 2 will be in theaters on February 8, 2019 unless it gets delayed.
I haven’t done these posts in a while but Amazon currently has some LEGO City train sets on sale which price matches some other retailers. They are some of the older train sets from 2014 so they could be retired soon given that there’s a rumor of some new train sets coming this summer/fall. There are also some additional track sets that are on sale which are at their lowest prices ever on Amazon including the Flex Tracks (7499) and the Switch Tracks (7895).
