Post Your Entries for the LEGO Ideas Moments in Space Contest

LEGO Ideas Moments in Space

Yesterday, I reported that the crowd voting stage for the LEGO Ideas Moments in Space contest was underway. This stage is to find the top 25 entries out of a whopping 1,065 entries who participated. I’ve been asked by readers a few times already to feature their entries. While I can’t feature every single one, I’ll allow participants to leave a comment below to show off their own builds.

You may have noticed on each entry page that it doesn’t show the voes even though you have voted on a particular entry. According Hasan in the LEGO Ambassador Network, “The votes are intentionally hidden for this phase and will be revealed at the end of the contest.” This allows a level playing field since nobody knows how many votes an entry has gained. This also makes the whole thing a popularity contest to find the top 25 entries. I suggest using the filters to find which entries have the most discussions to gauge what is popular at the moment for the contest.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Infinity War Sets Found in the Wild

It looks like we have our first look at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Infinity War sets which comes from an overseas toy shop. There are two sets that are on sale there, the Outrider Dropship Attack (76101) and The Hulkbuster Smash-Up (76104).

As we can see, the Outrider Dropship Attack includes minifigures of Captain America, Black Widow, and an Outrider. The Hulkbuster Smash-Up has minifigures of Bruce Banner, Falcon, Proxima Midnight, and an Outrider.

Note that the prices on the sets are probably in Singapore Dollar and not in USD. In addition to these sets, there are supposed to be four more sets in the wave. Now that the LEGO Infinity War sets are now being sold, hopefully we’ll get to see the official images of the sets soon.

LEGO Ideas Moments in Space Crowd Vote Stage

LEGO Ideas Moments in Space

Last month, the LEGO Ideas team asked the community to build something that could potentially become a future Gift-with-Purchase item in a contest called Moments in Space. The deadline for submitting the entries is now over and it has moved on to the crowd vote part of the contest. Here you can vote on the submissions that you think are the best and would like to see as a GWP. The deadline to vote is February 19 and the top 25 entries will move on to the Judging Phase. There are over 1,000 entries and it may take some time to go through them but there are some really good ones.

LEGO Classic 60th Anniversary Walmart Exclusive Truck (4000030) Now Available

LEGO Classic 60th Anniversary Walmart Exclusive Truck (4000030)

In a surprise, the Walmart exclusive LEGO Classic 60th Anniversary Truck (4000030) is now available for purchase on Walmart.com. The reason for the surprise is that it is now available at 12am EST which is about twelve hours before the other sets were released on their respective dates. Like with the previous anniversary sets, this one will also go for $19.97 each and you can either have it shipped to your location or you can pick it up at your preferred store. You can also combine it with the LEGO Classic Bricks on a Roll (10715) set to get over the free shipping threshold. This is the last of the Walmart LEGO 60th Anniversary series of sets that will be available.

Thanks to Ben for the heads up.

LEGO Marvel Thor: Ragnarok Sales on Amazon

While we wait for Black Panther to hit theaters next week, there are some LEGO sales on the previous Marvel movie, Thor: Ragnarok. Both sets that came out for the movie are currently at least 20% off the retail price. The Thor vs. Hulk: Arena Clash (76088) is pirced at $44.99 which is 25% off and it at a more reasonable price considering we get a few exclusive minifigures including the Hulk bigfig.

The other Thor: Ragnarok set that is on sale is the Ultimate Battle for Asgard (76084) which goes for $38.49. This set also has some exclusive minifigs along with the Fenris build.

LEGO Classic Walmart 60th Anniversary Sets Limited to 5000 Each (Update)

The two exclusive limited edition LEGO Classic 60th Anniversary sets from Walmart that have been released so far have been a hit or a miss for fans as they don’t seem to be worth the cost of the sets however that doesn’t stop people from purchasing them. If you’ve already received your sets already, you may have noticed that there is a numbered sticker on them to signify the limited quantities for them and it looks like we now know how many of the sets were produced and it’s not that many.

According to an image shown on Reddit, LEGO customer service has confirmed there are only 5,000 of each of the three sets and there will be no more produced after this run. This means that if you weren’t able to get them when they are released on the first day, you’re probably out of luck unless you turn to the secondary market where flippers are basically selling them for double the retail price.

As an eBay Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

As for the sets themselves, you’re most likely buying them for collectability reasons and not to build them as you can probably recreate them using the LEGO parts from your collection. I’m still waiting for my sets to come in as I had a scare when Walmart told me they were backordered but it seems they both shipped out yesterday. The last set is the Truck (4000030) and will be available in a few days.

Update: I’ve personally emailed LEGO customer … Continue
