LEGO Sports Games Reported to be Developed by 2K

It has been recently reported by Video Game Chronicle that LEGO has signed a multi-game partnership with 2K for some new LEGO sports games which will include football (soccer) and racing. The game will be developed by Sumo Digital and the game will be followed up with an open-world LEGO racing game that is currently under development at Visual Concepts. The LEGO football game is reported to be released later this year to coincide with the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The LEGO racing game is expected to be released in 2023.

The report also states that there may have been some sort of fallen out with Warner Bros.’ TT Games which has been making LEGO games since 2005 which licensed properties included Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, and DC. TT Games is said to have one more game beyond LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

LEGO March 2022 Reported Promotions

Since we don’t get the LEGO Store calendars anymore, we don’t actually know what promotions will be going on until a few days before something drops. There are reports of what we could be expecting for March 2022. First is a rumored the Jane Goodall Tribute (40530) set which was first reported online last year. It is said that the promotion will be from March 3-15 with a $120 purchase. The other promo looks to be a double VIP points event from March 12-14. If true, that means both promos will stack during the second weekend of March. Keep in mind, these are unconfirmed promos and have to wait until the LEGO Shop is updated.

LEGO VIDIYO 30% Off Sale on LEGO Shop

Now that LEGO has announced that the LEGO VIDIYO theme has been discontinued, they have effectively put all the sets at 30% off on the LEGO Shop. This sale is to get rid of the rest of the inventory and it includes the final wave of sets and the BeatBoxes from the initial wave. It does not, however, have any of the Series 2 Bandmates which everyone is now looking for and have been a hot commodity since they were released last year.
