LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Official Images

LEGO Jurassic World Blue's Helicopter Pursuit (75928)

There are now official images as well as descriptions of some of the LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets which were revealed at the 2018 Nuremberg Toy Fair.

NUREMBERG, GERMANY. – January 30, 2018 – Universal Brand Development (Universal) and the LEGO Group announced today the launch of their largest Jurassic World partnership to date, offering an expanded line of construction sets, all-new animated content, and, for the first time ever, a lifestyle collection. In anticipation of the upcoming global theatrical release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in June, Universal is building upon the success of LEGO Jurassic World, with the debut of construction sets that span every LEGO age category, as well as two all-new, animated videos, and a collection of soft lines and publishing to reach audiences beyond the toy aisle.

In support of the theatrical launch of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Universal and the LEGO Group will globally launch 13 constructions sets that span across the various LEGO® play categories: LEGO Systems (ages 6+), LEGO Juniors (ages 4-7) and LEGO DUPLO (ages 2-4), plus a collectability offering with LEGO BrickHeadz, available this spring only at Walmart. The sets will hit shelves in April, with retailer exclusives at both Toys “R” Us and Walmart. Additionally, fans will find new soft line and publishing offerings available later this year.

More sets and information will be unveiled at New York Toy Fair in mid-February.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657) “Confirmed” at Nuremberg Toy Fair

It has been pretty much confirmed at the 2018 Nuremberg Toy Fair that there will be a The LEGO Ninjago Movie direct-to-consumer set featuring the Ninjago City Docks (70657) coming this summer. This set was rumored late last year and according to the notes by Zusammengebaut, you can connect the docks to the current Ninjago City (70620) by the way of some Technic pins. There’s no word on pricing but it was rumored to be at a $299.99 price point.

Is the LEGO Black VIP Card Promotion Continuing?

LEGO Black VIP Card

The last time I’ve talked about the LEGO Black VIP card was a few weeks ago where I stated that a new batch of cards are being created due to a glitch in the system and now, there’s a new revelation about how to acquire the card. The original deadline to get the card was December 31, 2017 so technically you can’t get it anymore even if you have purchased the set this year but that could be changing according some information that I’ve received.

A reader named Tim purchased the UCS Falcon this past weekend at a New York LEGO Brand Store and the manager there told him that LEGO would be continuing the Black VIP card promotion that ended last year. Tim was then told to verify his LEGO VIP address because he’ll also be getting it as well even though the deadline has passed.

I’m not sure if this is just an isolated incident or if LEGO is actually continuing the Black VIP card promotion. I would suggest asking LEGO customer service before making your purchase to see if they are actually continuing it since the webpage about it still has the old information. Even if you’ve made a purchase of the Falcon this year, it wouldn’t hurt to ask customer service to see what’s going on.

Let us know in the comments below if you’ve had the same situation and also have been told that the Black VIP card promotion would be continuing.

LEGOLAND California Castle Hotel Opening on April 27

LEGOLAND California Castle Hotel

LEGOLAND California has announced the official opening date for the new LEGOLAND Castle Hotel will be on April 27. This will be the first Castle Hotel in North America and it will consist of 250 deluxe rooms. Reservations are now happening if you want to book a room for this spring or summer. Check out the press release below.

LEGOLAND® CASTLE HOTEL OFFICIALLY OPENING APRIL 27, 2018 AT LEGOLAND® CALIFORNIA RESORT!

Hammers pounding, saws cutting and drills buzzing were some of the sounds heard by the media in front of LEGOLAND® Castle Hotel at LEGOLAND® California Resort as Merlin the wizard unraveled his scroll officially declaring the Hotel’s opening day: April 27, 2018. LEGOLAND® California’s General Manager Peter Ronchetti and LEGOLAND® Hotel Manager Frank Idris also addressed the crowd providing Resort updates and new details about North America’s first LEGOLAND Castle Hotel.

“It’s hard to imagine that just five years ago we were standing on a construction site just like this announcing North America’s first LEGOLAND Hotel which has proven to be extremely popular with our guests,” said Idris. “In fact, it was just named one of Trip Advisor’s top 25 Hotels for families in the United States! And, we achieved our goal of becoming the first hotel in Carlsbad to achieve the Environmentalist level from the California Green Lodging Association thanks to all of the additional conservation efforts that were implemented this past year.“

“Staying in a LEGOLAND Hotel is an adventure in itself and only adds to the overall experience families are treated to

LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) Official Image

LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249)

Late last year, an image of the LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) surfaced online and now we have the official image of the set. Brickshop.nl has listed the set available starting in March but we’ll see if there is a promotion for it on Shop@Home when the March Store Calendar is available in a few weeks. The set basically consists of a minifigure with a new torso and a pair of bunny ears along with a paintbrush and an egg as accessories. Like before, the minifigure will come in a cardboard box.

For last year’s Iconic Easter (5004468) set, it was originally available for purchase at Toys R Us at the end of February and subsequently a promo at TRU. It eventually became an unannounced promotion on Shop@Home which only lasted for a few days.

I’ll let you guys know when it will become available and at what retailer as soon as there’s news about it.

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) Official Image

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038)

Last night, I reported on some of the details for the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) skyline set and now we have the official image of the set courtesy of Promobricks. As I mentioned before, the set will consist of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, the Mandalay Bay Hotel, the Luxor Hotel, the Encore Hotel, the Stratosphere Tower, and the Fremont Street Experience. As far as the building choices are concerned, I feel there are much more iconic buildings that LEGO could have used and there are too many to list off.

The set will have 487 pieces and retail for €39.99 and it also includes a printed 1×2 tile of the Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada sign as well as the 1×8 tile of the set. The release date is still up in the air due to the events at the Mandalay Bay last year causing it to be delayed. I’ll let you know when it becomes available.

LEGO at the 2018 New York Toy Fair

The New York Toy Fair is happening next month and there’s some details about the LEGO booth that you should need to know before you get your hopes up about seeing the summer 2018 LEGO sets. Various media outlets have receieved their emails for the LEGO “Save the Date” preview party, including one of my contacts, and according to the email, LEGO will not be displaying any of the summer 2018 product lineup. This means there will be nothing for the 2018 second half sets (after June releases) which is a disappointment because it is something that fans really look forward to at this time of the year.

However, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be anything on display at the LEGO booth. We can probably look forward to the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers: Infinity War sets and the LEGO Star Wars Solo sets because they’ll be out before June. Other than that, there isn’t really anything else of importance since we’ve pretty much seen everything already that is set to be released in March-May besides LEGO Speed Champions. I don’t see them listed on the February 2018 Store Calendar so they’re probably spring releases.

This little detail about the 2018 New York Toy Fair comes to light a few days after it was revealed that LEGO won’t be at the London Toy Fair and will be somewhat restricted at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. I’m not sure why LEGO decided to change up the things at this year’s toy fairs but it’s a little saddening … Continue
