LEGO Pick-A-Brick Wall Changes

New Pick-A-Brick

If you have been to a LEGO Brand Store recently, you might have seen some new changes to the Pick-A-Brick wall. For people who frequent the wall, you may have noticed that the price per cup has been raised $1.00 from its previous price. The smaller cups are now $8.99 each and the larger ones are $15.99. Another change is that the wall will have certain brick elements that are the same for every Brand Store and will be rotated simutaneously throughout the year. These elements will give kids some inspiration of what they can build and the labels suggest what they could go well with such as LEGO City or Star Wars.

For people who buy in bulk of the elements at the store, the prices for the cases has also gone up from the usual $75 to $100 price tag now. Even with the price increase, the cases are still a pretty good value if you need a lot of a certain element. How do you guys feel about these changes to the PAB Wall? Let us know in the comments below.

Shout out to Genevieve who does a great job in keeping our wall filled with cool and interesting pieces.

LEGO CUUSOO Doctor Who and Companions Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Doctor Who and Companions project by Andrew Clark has achieved 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO and becomes the latest set to reach the first review stage of the year. It also becomes the second Doctor Who project to reach the review stage ever since LEGO started allowing these projects to be submitted with the first project being GlenBricker’s version. This version features the TARDIS and it is able to open up to show the inside Console. It also includes a Dalek and proposes a few versions of the Doctor and Companions.

With this new Doctor Who project also reaching the required number of supporters, we can see that the fan base is definitely is there and fans of the TV series do want to see it as an official LEGO set. Whether or not either project will pass the review stage still remains to be seen. It now joins the LEGO Bird Project, the Modular Apple Store, the BTTF – Jules Verne Train, the previously mentioned Doctor Who project by GlenBricker, and The Big Bang Theory in the review stage with a month left until the deadline for any more projects joining the list. Congratulations to Andrew for this achievement. We’ll have the official comments as soon as they are available.

Congratulations on 10,000 supporters, AndrewClark2!

LEGO April Fool’s Day Roundup

It seemed that yesterday, I caused quite a stir with my post stating that I will be leaving my site at the end of the month. It seems that I couldn’t fool some of you guys. I am happy to announce that I will not be leaving The Brick Fan and will be continuing what I’ve enjoyed doing for the past two years. To those who thought I was really leaving, I’m very sorry for pulling that joke on you. There were quite a few comments left on the post as well as on Facebook from a number of fans and I was touched that many of you really enjoy coming to the site. As a result of this joke, I will be doing another giveaway in the very near future! Stay tuned for that.

He will be joining the company on August 1st. Mads has been with The LEGO Group since 1991 and has had a number of senior positions in marketing and innovation. His vast experience and informal approach combined with his true passion for the LEGO brand are all factors that have contributed greatly to our success in recent years. While I am very sorry to see Mads go, I am equally confident that the strong capabilities and robust organisation that Mads has built within the Marketing area will secure a smooth transition over the coming months.

Recently, Mads was instrumental in helping bring in The Simpsons license to the company and the eventual release of the products..

Mads has also given his comments on his new position:

I am looking very much forward to be a part of the Grundfos Group. I have chosen Grundfos, because it is a value based company, who through quality products enhance the lives of the customers while doing something good for the world at the same time. LEGO Star Wars Darth Revan Minifigure Polybag Found

LEGO Star Wars Darth Revan Minifigure Polybag

Brickset has posted an image of a new LEGO Star Wars polybag of Darth Revan which was found in the Czech Republic. He was first seen as the main protagonist in the Knights of the Old Republic video game back in 2003, which I’ve played before on the PC. He was a Dark Lord of the Sith and Master to Darth Malak and was in part of the Mandalorian Wars as well as the Jedi Civil War. Brickset notes that Revan could be the exclusive minifigure for the LEGO May the Fourth promotion this year. More details as they become available for this polybag.

LEGO Star Wars TC-4 Polybag

FBTB has confirmed that the exclusive minifigure for volunteering and displaying a MOC at this week’s Star Wars Days at LEGOLAND California will indeed be the TC-4 minifigure polybag. This particular minifigure has been rumored to been this year’s LEGO May the 4th promotional giveaway but there’s been no confirmation on that yet.

Star Wars Days features many activities such as the 501st & Rebel Legion Droid Hunt and the Miniland Scavenger Hunt. Also be sure to check out all the MOCs that will be displayed at the Fan Gallery on the Model Shop roof. There’s a very slim chance that I may be there this year but I have to see.
