LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes Batmobile (30161) Review

LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes Batmobile (30161)

The LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes Batmobile (30161) is now being sold at Target stores in the stocking stuffer section. The Batmobile was first given out for free in the UK’s Sun Newspaper earlier this year. FBTB reported it earlier today and I’ve happened to find a lot of them next to a bunch of LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 8 polybags. The Batmobile consists of 45 pieces and retails for $3.99 and has no minifigures. The car itself is a pretty nice mini version, much like the size of a Hot Wheels car. A nice little set for the cost of about a cup of coffee.

LEGO Castle Returns In 2013?

With only a few Kingdoms sets released in the last two years, fans of the Castle theme weren’t satisfied over the lack of medieval sets despite the release of the Lord of the Rings sets. The wait for new Castle sets may be over in 2013 because over on Brickshop.nl, they have listed 5 “new” Castle sets that have an expected release date of August 1, 2013. The same sets are also listed under the “Legends” category, which are sets that are re-released due to it being very popular many years after their initial run. There’s no details about the sets but there’s speculation that the upcoming Castle sets could be a re-release of the older sets or a release with updated pieces. This is definitely unexpected news and we’ll be waiting to hear more about them.

To see the designer video, enter the code A9FB4Q here and there will be a small popup of the video. To get the wallpaper, enter the same code here to get a popup of different sized wallpapers of the Balrog from the Lord of the Rings video game.

LEGO Galaxy Squad Image From LEGO Club Magazine

Lego Club Nov-Dec 12 Magazine

Murphquake has uploaded images from the November-December Club Magazine of what may be the first images of the new highly anticipated LEGO Galaxy Squad sets. What we can see in the comic is Earth shooting a laser into space, probably from the Galaxy Squad, at a giant wasp looking insect as well as many insect figures with the caption:

What is this newest threat?? Get ready to defend the universe from extraterrestrial pests with Galaxy Squad!

vynsane on Eurobricks has found descriptions of the sets and translated them using Google Translator.

Disney Buys Lucasfilm…Star Wars: Episode VII in 2015

This is not really LEGO related but will have LEGO implications in the next few years. The Huffington Post reports that today, Disney announced they have purchased Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion. They also state that Star Wars: Episode VII is targeted to be in theaters in 2015 with Episode VIII and Episode IX in theaters “every two or three years.” Since LEGO just signed a licensing agreement extension for 10 more years with Lucasfilm in February, it probably means there’s a good chance that there will be Star Wars: Episode VII-IX LEGO sets in the future.
