LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes 2017 Mighty Micros Sets Revealed

LEGO Super Heroes Mighty Micros: DC Comics Superman vs. Bizarro (76068)

LEGO has announced that they will be continuing the LEGO Super Heroes Mighty Micros line in 2017 and today they have shown off a sneak peek at some of the sets that will be coming next year.

The first set, shown above, is Superman vs. Bizarro (76068). This is the first time that the Bizarro minifigure has been in a widely available set and not the San Diego Comic Con exclusive.

Next is Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday (76070) in which Wonder Woman gets an Invisible Plane Mighty Micro made up of lots of clear pieces. Also Doomsday now becomes an official minifigure although he is the chibi version.

Last up is Batman vs. Killer Moth (76069). This version of Batman is the chibi version of the Adam West classic Batman which includes the retro Batcopter.

LEGO has hashtagged their post with #SDCC so we can probably expect to see these in person at San Diego Comic Con next month.

Brickworld Chicago 2016 World of Lights

Brickworld Chicago 2016 is over but one of the more spectacular things to see is the traditional “World of Lights” event that takes place. If you’re not familiar with World of Lights, it takes place after the public is gone and the lights are turned off. The only source of light are from the builds that have lights included.

The Brick Show has taken photos and video of some of this year’s builds for BrickWorld Chicago which you can check out below.

LEGO Classic Knights (5004419)

LEGO will be releasing another retro-type set that pays homage to some of the original LEGO themes and for this year, it will be the Classic Knights (5004419) set. There are now official images of the set from Brick Merge which shows some closer details of the Classic Knights set.

Like with the 2014 Classic Spaceman Minifigure (5002812) and the 2015 Classic Pirates Minifigure (5003082) sets, the Classic Knights (5004419) set will contain a minifigure from a particular theme and in this case, a Crusader Knight from the LEGO Castle theme. The build itself is a small ballista that is very similar to the 1986 Siege Cart (6012) but with updated parts. There’s also a small booklet showing off some of the various knights that LEGO has released throughout the years.

The Classic Knights (5004419) set will be available starting June 30-July 10 with purchases of $50 or more at LEGO Brand Stores and on SHop@Home.

Rumored San Diego Comic 2016 Exclusive LEGO Minifigures

San Diego Comic Con 2016 is just around the corner and speculation has been going on about which LEGO minifigures will be given away this year. Earlier today, Sir Gareth over on Eurobricks has revealed that they are Captain America (Steve Rogers) for Marvel and the Atom for DC.

This version of Captain America is the recently controversial Hydra agent version of the character. As for the Atom, it will be from Ray Palmer from the CW’s Arrow/Flash series and the Legends of Tomorrow series. This will be the third character featured from the Arrowverse as the Green Arrow was given away back in 2013 and Arsenal from last year.

Of course, none of this is confirmed yet until they are revealed, hopefully soon, as exclusives from other companies have already been announced. Stay tuned as more details for LEGO in SDCC 2016 are released.

LEGO Nexo Knights Royal Guard (5004390) Promotional Minifigure Revealed

There is now an image from Brickset of the LEGO Nexo Knights Royal Guard (5004390) promotional minifigure that will be given away from July to September. The only legit way to get it is with the last voucher from the 2016 LEGO Calendar which was given away last year with purchases.

The set comes in a box similar to the ones from the Target Minifigure Gift boxes but with full Nexo Knights deco. It’s kind of neat that it comes in a box instead of just a standard polybag. The Royal Guard itself seems to be an unique minifigure with updated torso and leg printing.

Marvel Announces Merchandising Program for Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Marvel has announced the merchandising program for the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 which, not surprisingly, will include official LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets to go with it. James Gunn on his Facebook Page also mentioned that more female characters will be represented such as Gamora, Mantis, Nebula, and Elizabeth Debicki’s rumored character Ayesha.

I’m making sure this time around the female characters are more represented in the toy world. Not only Gamora, but Mantis, Nebula, and Elizabeth Debicki’s character as well.

Press Release

Building off the breakout hit success of the first film in 2014, Marvel is unveiling a super-charged licensing program in support of its red hot Guardians of the Galaxy ahead of the 2017 sequel.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1The freshly expanded merchandising program will offer year-round support to the franchise for fans of all ages with an expanded focus on younger consumers — who have helped fuel the popularity of the Disney XD animated series — with a rollout including new toys, games, books, apparel, accessories, and more.

With anticipation for the new film already reaching a feverish pace, a slate of Marvel Publishing titles including Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1, Rocket Raccoon Volume 1: A Chasing Tale, and Groot Volume 1, and the success of the Disney XD show sparking a second season renewal with new episodes set to debut this fall, Guardians of the Galaxy is being primed by Marvel to become a true evergreen tentpole franchise.

LEGO Dimensions E3 2016 Roundup

LEGO Dimensions Year 2

In the past few days, TT Games has been releasing images and videos as well as content of some of the upcoming IPs that will be included in year 2 of LEGO Dimensions at E3 2016. In yesterday’s livestream at E3 2016, they showed off some more of images.

If you didn’t see the official announcement last week, there are 16 new IPs that will be coming to LEGO Dimensions including: Adventure Time, Mission: Impossible, The A-Team, Ghostbusters, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The LEGO Batman Movie, Harry Potter, The Goonies, Sonic The Hedgehog, Teen Titans Go!, LEGO City Undercover, Knight Rider, The Powerpuff Girls, Gremlins, Beetlejuice, and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.

Like with the previous year, the expansion packs will be coming in a number of waves starting in September, November, January, and March.

One of the main things the’ve highlighted is the new Battle Arenas feature which is a competitive gameplay that consists of up to four players. All of the the upcoming and previous characters will be able to be used in the Battle Arenas which themselves have four game modes including Capture the Flag.

News about the year 2 content of LEGO Dimensions will continue coming out this summer as we head towards the release in September. I wouldn’t be totally surprised if TT Games makes an appearance at San Diego Comic Con next month with more reveals so stay tuned for that.
