LEGO Star Wars, City, Friends 2016 Advent Calendar Official Images

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Advent Calendar (75146)

I’ve been waiting for a while to post about this but now is a good time as ever to post them since some readers do need a heads up in case they miss it later on. There are now official images of the three LEGO 2016 Advent Calendars from Amazon France and I’ll upload the descriptions when they’re available. As for the release date, if LEGO follows the same trend from previous years, they will be available on September 1. There will be spoilers below so if you’re looking forward to opening the advent calendars, I would advise you not to click the spoiler tags or read any further.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Advent Calendar (75146)

[su_spoiler title=”Spoilers” open=”no” style=”default” icon=”plus” anchor=”” class=””]The most popular advent calendar is probably the LEGO Star Wars 2016 Advent Calendar (75146) which contains 282 pieces and retails for $39.99. The offerings are from various scenes from Hoth, Naboo, and Tatooine and they seem to be decent but not great although there are some very nice builds. Most notably is the absence of a Santa-type minifigure although we have a white Chewbacca with a festive bandolier.

If you want to purchase the set, I highly suggest picking it up when it first comes out. I’ve been noticing people waiting on it and they eventually sell out and complain they didn’t get one. The Star Wars Advent Calendars have a very short shelf life and probably only has a few production runs so there is a very limited supply.

LEGO Ninjago Panel at San Diego Comic Con 2016

LEGO Ninjago SDCC 2016 Panel

A lot of you have asked about a recap of the LEGO Ninjago panel at San Diego Comic Con 2016. I did sort of a live tweet during the event but I’ve finally had some time to do a post about it. First the panel did sort of a recap of Season 6: Skybound and they asked fans who Nya should end up with and get got a lot of feedback and went with Jay. They also showed a lot of the early concept images of some of the sets with lots of test builds.

Then they talked about when LEGO Ninjago will be returning to Cartoon Network which was revealed to be on October 29 with the first episode called “Day of the Departed.” Here they showed a two or so minute clip of the episode and it showed the ninjas riding in their respective vehicles and Cole suddenly starts to vanish as he is still a ghost and begins to crash as the screen fades out.

Next up, they teased the next adventure which will be called “The Hands of Time.” They did not elaborate on this so that left us wondering what it’s about.

During the Q&A session, it was stated that The LEGO Ninjago Movie will be talk about more next year so there’s no new info on that. As for next season, it was hinted that there will be more skeletons as well as maybe a new element coming. Also someone asked if we will be seeing Sensei Garmadon again and … Continue

LEGO BIONICLE to be Discontinued at End of 2016

LEGO BIOINICLE

You may or may not have read about it this morning but today marks a sad day in the LEGO community as LEGO has announced that LEGO BIONICLE will be discontinued at the end of 2016 after a two year run.

LEGO BIONICLE was pretty popular when it came back in 2015 and the CCBS community was back in full swing with the revival. There’s no mentioning on why LEGO has decided to end the theme but safe bets are due to lack of sales. LEGO did mention that the final wave of BIONICLE sets will be coming to Europe and North America but will not be released in Asia and the Pacific markets. This usually happens when themes or subthemes are ending such as LEGO Legends of Chima and the LEGO Star Wars Planets sets.

THE CONCLUSION OF “THE JOURNEY TO ONE” MARKS THE END FOR LEGO® BIONICLE® GENERATION 2

Fans, today we have to share the news with you that we have made the tough decision to discontinue LEGO® BIONICLE® at the end of 2016. NETFLIX has just started streaming the final two episodes of “The Journey to One” the ending of which, will put an end to any speculation about the future of LEGO® BIONICLE®.

With the 2015 relaunch of LEGO® BIONICLE®, we set out to revive a childhood favorite of fans worldwide, and bring it to a new group of children who were too young to have known and played with LEGO® BIONICLE® Generation 1. From your wonderful feedback over the last

LEGO SDCC 2016 Marvel BrickHeadz Iron Man & Captain America (41492) Review

LEGO Marvel BrickHeadz Iron Man & Captain America (41492)

This year’s exclusive sets at San Diego Comic Con are the new LEGO BrickHeadz which are also coming in 2017. These sets went for $40 each at the con and the only way to be able to get one was to enter a raffle early in the morning to win a voucher to purchase the set later on in the day. The only BrickHeadz set that I was able to obtain is Iron Man & Captain America (41492) which contains 184 pieces.

LEGO Dimensions SDCC 2016 Roundtable Interview with James Mcloughlin and Arthur Parsons

LEGO Dimensions Year 2

On the last day of San Diego Comic Con 2016, there was a LEGO Dimensions roundtable session with members of the press and I was invited to attend. TT Games Game Directors James Mcloughlin and Arthur Parsons were on hand to answer questions about the LEGO Dimensions Year 2 content which has some exciting new stuff for it. We only had a limited time with each person so there wasn’t that much time to cover every single question that you guys posted but I did manage to sneak a few in. Both interviews were around 17 minutes long so if you have some time, feel free to check it out.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes SDCC 2016 Steve Rogers Captain America

This past Friday and Sunday at San Diego Comic Con 2016, LEGO gave attendees a chance to win the exclusive LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Steve Rogers Captain America minifigure. In order to have a chance, people in the front stood in line for at least 2 1/2 hours and they tap the iPad provided to see if they won and the prize was given at the spot. The giveaways were also done on social media for those who weren’t able to attend.

Like with the DC Comics Super Heroes Atom and other previous exclusive minifigures from SDCC, Captain America comes in a clamshell case. The insert has a nice dark blue background with the SDCC 2016 logo on the bottom left alongside the Marvel logo. The back has some advertisement for the LEGO Marvel’s Avengers video game.

As for Captain America minifigure itself, this variant is based on the recently released Captain America: Steve Rogers #1. He has an all-new outfit that is still prodomiently his usual blue, red, and white. There is the star on the middle of the chest and some red and white stripes below it. He also has some belt printing that goes around the back. There Cap also has a star in the middle of the back. The legs continue with the printing of the suit as well as some boot printing on the front. The head appears to be new with him wearing his mask. There’s also some detailing on the chin area to give it some definition. Captain … Continue
